What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Leftover chicken, chips and mash, plus bean stew I have made in slow cooker. It's got lots of mixed beans and grains, quinoa, garlic, fried onion and there's a red pepper roasting in the oven. Herb pairing for this is oregano and smoked paprika. I'll serve it later on with a dollop of sour cream, cheese and toasted pine nuts.

I have a lot of peppers so something involving them, not sure what.
Griddled peppers, home made sourdough bread and home made hummus done in my new food processor.

Then magic ice cream also done in food processor. I used to make this years ago, usually blackberry and banana and had forgotten about it.

Thanks to Ms T for replacing my sourdough starter as I'd managed to contaminate mine with some horrific mould

Yesterday we ended up just having bagels, some crisped up crackling that I'd forgotten I brought back from work, a Lion bar each and some fruit for the health.
So today we had what we were supposed to have yesterday but with hot cross buns for pudding.

Veggie chilli (soya mince, kidney beans, peppers, leek, bulgar wheat, loads garlic, red onion, chilli and spices). I ate it in this big mug thing that I like to eat my tea out of sometimes ❤

We've still got loads of this. But it might go in the freezer.

And I might make a sausage stew with mushrooms, leeks and lentils! I feel quite excited by this idea

I'm just on my way back from dropping the kids at Paddington to go to their nan's until Friday so I will spend the next couple of days eating what I like, when I like
Unfortunately the only thing I thought to take out of the freezer today was some celeriac and butternut soup, tho, so it's either that or beans on toast today

I'm debating whether to treat myself to a Chinese instead :hmm:

Jesus, no debate there :D Party time = takeaway time!

:D

With that in mind, I'd already gone to the corner shop on the way back and bought a bottle of wine, two bags of Oinks and a packet of fishfingers  (WOOHOO! :D ) but I've got back in to find my son has troughed his way through almost all of the bread.
I even ASKED him this morning cos I could smell him making burning toast last night and he said 'Oh no, there was still quite a bit left'. There's ONE piece and a crust!

So I think I will go with the general consensus (errr :hmm: that's YOU, May x  ) and get a takeaway, which I will eat in my bed - once I get bored of the wine - while I catch up on TOWIE. Fuck, yeah! *dances*

I made a kind of 'savoury' bread and butter pudding (think they call it Strata in Italy...). It's Irish inspired and I used slices of wholemeal bread (from pan and stick), and assembled them in a baking dish. Then I combined cream, mozzerela, eggs and cheddar in the food processor and poured onto the bread. Added chopped scallions, black pudding, parsley and thyme. Put in fridge for the day. Took it out and grated on some parmesan, bunged in oven. It was an experiment but very nice and a really economical way of using up old bread and cheap ingredients. I served it with the smokey beans I did the other night.

That looks fit as fuck

I had a pork chop marinated in sweet chilli sauce with pak choi. It was acceptable I spose.
