What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Back at home now. We had steak with soffrito, garlic, mashed spuds with cream and butter. Wine. There's sticky toffee pudding in the oven but I wont be partaking (too full).

Veg mix. Peppers, aubergine, chestnut mushrooms, leeks, red/yellow/green chillies, rainbow chard, tomato puree and two cartons of chopped tomatoes. Tons of olive oil. Should be enough for dinner tomorrow too.

Washed down with a pint of ginger beer.

Not much tonight because we had a massive lunch. Garlic mushrooms with bread and salad then steak, chips, peas, tomatoes and more mushrooms. [emoji4] Then an ice cream and a slush puppy because I'm STILL fucking ill and my throat is killing me. [emoji35]

Might have a bit of toast later or just loads of lollies.

Chicken and potato curry. Very nice although I seem to have permanently dyed my hands yellow rubbing the turmeric in to the chicken.
Doesn't UV light break down the pigment in turmeric? I think I read that tip for removing stains in fabric by leaving it in the sun.

The veg mix was considerably hotter than expected - the chillies were heftier than usual. Will have to have some rice or something with it tomorrow to dilute the fire. :hmm:

Homemade chips, it was he first time making them and they turned out great! :) I cut four roosters into big chips, and washed them in a colander. Then i put them in a bowl to which I added vegetable oil, sea salt, garlic powder and paprika. Then bunged em in an oven for about 30 mins, turned them and gave it another 20 mins. They turned out crispy on the outside, fluffy in the middle - definitely worth the wait! Had them baked beans (with a dash of Lee Perrins) and homemade crispy fried chicken. I basically got two chicken breasts, dipped in egg and panko breadcrumbs, and chicken seasoning (this contained no MSG and ingredients like paprika, fenugreek, fennel and orange oil). Overall a hearty, American-style dinner.

I had a picnic today consisting of: chicken tikka, samosa, spring rolls, falafel, pringles & salsa, strawberries dipped in Cadbury's cream egg 'pots of joy' and Prossecco.
it was a nice afternoon ;-)

Refused to shop or cook after a hideous week, so went to Pizza Express. The fuckers have taken Melanzane Parmigiana off the menu.
[emoji35] They've taken my favourite starter off too, bruschetta con funghi. I've been there just to have that fucking starter. Bastards.

I've never forgiven them for stopping doing the summer pudding they did. That was fucking wonderful :(
