Borscht. The first one I've ever made without pork. Pretty good considering I've mocked Russian (meatless) borscht for years. Mopped up with some nice rye bread from the polski sklep
Glad you were happy with the result.

Chicken stock can give a good base for borscht, if you want an alternative to pork, or don't want to use vegetable stock.

was knackered so Tesco meals for a tenner deal: fishcakes with cheddar sauce in the middle, sea salt and black pepper wedges, and peas with butter and mint, prosecco trifle with raspberries for dessert.

Spinach and chickpea gratin, with roasted vine toms and garlic, steamed cauli, and steamed/buttered/peppered baby corn  Followed by tiramisu

All the wine first though cos himself's been away in Somerset last 2 days so we're playing catch-up

I really fancy a roast but I've got mince to use so I'm making burgers with cheese, mushrooms and onion in buns with chips.

Something soft as can't chew anything without agony at the moment. Bored of Covent Garden soup, mashed potato and porridge now. No inspiration.

You should just eat M&S Madagascan Vanilla Custard
I could live with that, or Green and Black's organic vanilla ice cream.

I feel I should be attempting something involving vegetables though really to boost the immune system. Maybe BNS and tomato soup with ginger if I can be bothered to make it. Followed by custard.

Channa dal with creamed coconut and tons of garlic. Butternut squash, potato, spinach and tomato curry with tons of ginger. A bought roti from the freezer. Just about manageable as the roti was v soft and I mashed the veg curry. The most challenging element was the onions, bit crunchy still.

Just finishing off with G&B's organic vanilla.

I may have to liquidise the veg curry for soup tomorrow.
