What stupid shit has Trump done today?

Don't know if comes under the "stupid" classification, but breathtakingly arrogant.

In a Beijing ballroom, Kushner family flogs $500,000 ‘investor visa’ to wealthy Chinese
Stupid, but lucrative for the Trump family so hardly surprising. :(

And this,

The White House Has Fired the First Woman to Hold the Post of Chief Usher

Also only the second African American, taking on the role in 2011, which is traditionally a non-political, general manager appointment. No reason for the sacking was given. :hmm:

In ordinary circumstances, I'd have thought removing highly sensitive documents from a secure room in the White House would be a stupid and highly illegal move.

But there's hardly been a peep about this, so perhaps Trump can start shooting random people on Fifth Avenue as well.

WASHINGTON (AP) — In late November, a member of Donald Trump’s transition team approached national security officials in the Obama White House with a curious request: Could the incoming team get a copy of the classified CIA profile on Sergey Kislyak, Russia’s ambassador to the United States?

Marshall Billingslea, a former Pentagon and NATO official, wanted the information for his boss, Michael Flynn, who had been tapped by Trump to serve as White House national security adviser. Billingslea knew Flynn would be speaking to Kislyak, according to two former Obama administration officials, and seemed concerned Flynn did not fully understand he was dealing with a man rumored to have ties to Russian intelligence agencies.

While it’s not inappropriate for someone in Flynn’s position to have contact with a diplomat, Obama officials said the frequency of his discussions raised enough red flags that aides discussed the possibility Trump was trying to establish a one-to-one line of communication — a so-called back channel — with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Obama aides say they never determined why Flynn was in close contact with the ambassador.

Even with the suspicion, the officials said they did not withhold information.

The outgoing White House also became concerned about the Trump team’s handling of classified information. After learning that highly sensitive documents from a secure room at the transition’s Washington headquarters were being copied and removed from the facility, Obama’s national security team decided to only allow the transition officials to view some information at the White House, including documents on the government’s contingency plans for crises.

Some White House advisers now privately concede that the administration moved too slowly during the election to publicly blame Russia for the hack and explore possible ties to the Trump campaign. Others say it was only after the election, once Obama ordered a comprehensive review of the election interference, that the full scope of Russia’s interference and potential Trump ties become clearer.

Well, spawn of Trump, and it was 3 years ago, but just now surfaced.

Eric Trump in 2014: 'We have all the funding we need out of Russia'

"I said, 'Eric, who’s funding? I know no banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a golf course. You know, no one’s funding any kind of golf construction. It’s dead in the water the last four or five years,'” the writers told WBUR.

"And this is what he said. He said, 'Well, we don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.' I said, 'Really?' And he said, 'Oh, yeah. We’ve got some guys that really, really love golf, and they’re really invested in our programs. We just go there all the time.’"

But no, no connections with Russia, not at all. :hmm:

Russians "who really love golf".........
Really likes the opportunities currently available for money laundering and favoured immigration.
I imagine Ellis island now only caters for superyatchs?

Why's he picking on Haitians?

CrabbedOne - you are renowned far and wide as a sagacious interpreter of geopolitical reality, the like of which has not been seen since the great Mackinder himself. Is it likely that the presidency of Trumpenbashi could mean the end of the United States as a world hegemon?

Why's he picking on Haitians?..
My take on that is if your primary objective of hate (Muslims) looks to be slipping beyond your grasp, there's always the Haitians. They've been kicked plenty of times before, always good for a bit of hating.

The US does look pretty unsinkable despite the management.

The big eejit is turning out to be an incompetent puppet of the Republican establishment. He's implementing conventional Reagan style policies that promote elite interests and may well screw his base. But they seem pretty content with that. What surprised me was he got captured by the Blob so quickly. Faster even than Obama and his hopey changey thing; resistance really is futile.

The blob's trajectory, and that of the state it controls, is clearly downward though - that much has been clear since the "project for a new American century" came to grief in the sands of Iraq.

The question is how fast the trajectory will be, and how hard the impact.

Isn't this because the Clinton Foundation did stuff in Haiti after the earthquake - and did it pretty badly from what I've just read now - and may well have facilitated immigration from Haiti, they're looking for a "Hilary's Murderers" story.

Haiti is also part of the Pizzagate story. There's some link between this case New Life Children's Refuge case - Wikipedia and the pizza restaurant in that case, I believe - I'm not sure what exactly it is. Pizzagate types then represent that case as proof that their "targets" are linked to child trafficking.

Maybe you're right, but there's still plenty of scope for petty maliciousness as far as Haitians are concerned imo.

They created the body to collect evidence of immigrant crimes weeks ago. Something tells me, they'll be actively seeking examples only from some immigrant communities. Hint - bet we won't see many examples of Irish immigrants on the list, and not because they're inherently more law abiding than Haitians, Mexicans, Somalis, etc.

Not seeing any discussion here about Yates' testimony before The Senate Judiciary sub committee. Spineless GOP senators are asking her stupid irrelevant questions, but she's handing them their asses. :-D

Meanwhile, after the tweet on his personal account, Trump has repeated the same on the official potus account.

It's intimidating a federal witness and tampering with the investigative process - both serious and unlawful.

It's not pointless from their point of view. They're looking for a way to salvage this by finding a way to blame her. Kill the messenger and all that.

Yeah understood. But I was looking at a lot of comments concerning this on Twitter yesterday and as far as I could work out she was holding her own and making them look like the cunts they are.

People said that after Vietnam. I'd not be so sure as the rivals of the US often prove to be pretty fucked up as well. Both Russia and China have impending demographic crises, problems of bad governance and strategic incompetence as well. Neither actually want to confront the US directly. Everybody wants to invest in the US despite its economy being fully developed because its a safe place to stash the loot. Even when the US does something grotesquely stupid like trying to reengineer Iraq into a democracy it's other countries that are actually messed up not the US. The Septics just write off a few trillion and sulk about it a bit. Multi-trillion dollar crisis in capitalism in 08 largely due to under-regulation and the Fed just sorts it out and they just get on with it while others form a circular firing squad. Wall St just gets stronger with each collapse. The US floating on a hydrocarbon bonanza. They can afford luxuries like having an oafish glorified Estate Agent playing at being President. I'd worry more about the dark continent of Europe as we look to be descending into squabbling beggar your neighbour nationalism once more.
