What stupid shit has Trump done today?

By the way, he seems to tweet a lot about how great the economy/employment figures are doing but I can't see that he has implemented anything that could have any effect on these things one way or another. In fact I don't know if any leader could do anything that effects the economy within 12 months, which shows just how little he actually understands about economies. I've certainly heard it said that any positive performance is still in the realms of effects from Obama's presidency.
his thing is the numbers, are they big or small? Remember the tantrum over the lack of people who turned up to see him sworn in. He was insistent that he deffo did get more numbers than obama because thats his thing. Note when he denigrates people on this or that thing, tweeting, he's oft to say 'their numbers are down' or 'the show isn't doing so well' or similar. Its childish in a way, but in another way its capitalism writ small

Don't get too excited yet.
Yeah, I have to say nothing really good will come out of this. I still fear Trump might brazen it out somehow. Otherwise the best part will be the humiliation of that piece of shit, but what follows will be Pence, who might actually be competent as well as appalling, albeit a different kind of appalling.

I kind of doubt there will be violence if Pence steps up, in fact perhaps he was chosen for the fact that he'd appease the hard-core gun totin', Jesus lovin' types who might otherwise create trouble. In fact, one imagines a certain amount of unspoken relief among some who will be glad they can stop pretending to believe that Trump is a good Christian.

I hope you're right. I was thinking we would be more likely to see violence from the alt-right folks. The "Christian" right will just retreat into their self-righteous feelings of victimhood.

Yep. No reason to get excited. Even if he's impeached and removed, there's still plenty of evil left to fuck us with.

And, impeachment could quite well cause violence with some of the true believers.
There's already violence happening that will only get worse under Trump - forced removals by ICE, denial of relief to hurricane victims in BVG and PR, gutting health care cover, granting cops more power to be assholes, etc. Maybe his true believers will just beat each other up.

I can't find the link now, but I saw someone say the charges against Flynn relate to incidents Pence was involved in. So with any luck, he'll get taken out as well.

Until every last GOP fucker that backed Trump is out of Congress and Statehouses, and his backers are prepared to defend by all means necessary, yes, there will still be plenty of evil. But surely cutting the head off the beast has to happen if there's ever gonna be the prospect of halting it.

Even worse, if Trump is removed in this way it will be a vindication of the Bill Kristols, the Clintons, the Bushes and so on who will then be empowered to accelerate further the sort of policies which lead to Trump in the first place. His constituency will be even further alienated and willing to elect someone even worse, meanwhile thanks to neoliberalism the rich will get richer while we all get poorer and thanks to climate change the prospects for the continuance of human life on this planet beyond the lifetimes of those currently being born will decline further still.

The Voices in Blue America’s Head

Then Vietor and Lovett spotted Bill Kristol, the founding editor of The Weekly Standard and a neoconservative boogeyman to liberals during the George W. Bush presidency, who emerged as one of the most forthright conservative critics of Trump in 2016. They introduced themselves and fell into conversation about the 2008 election. “You guys had a good team,” Kristol said. “It seems like another era: Hillary and Obama debating the intricacies of whether you could do health care reform without a mandate or with a mandate.”

“The primary was about whether the I.R.G.C.” — Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — “should be a terrorist group!” Vietor marveled.

Soon, their discussion turned to the Trump administration. “It’s so unbelievable that these guys are trying to run anything,” Kristol lamented. “This level of total insanity is terrible.”

“You know what?” Lovett told Kristol. “I like you better lately. It’s like we’re together to fight the aliens.”

“It’s like we’re all defending the Earth!” Kristol said

Defending the earth from the demented buffoon gameshow rapist so that it can be plundered and rendered obsolete for human habitation.

Less than under Obama.
Get real...Obama never called out Mexicans, Muslims and others nor promoted violence. But there was a real air of aggression when Obama was pres true....but it was because he was black.

Trump's outbursts constantly polarise and increase aggression.

Are the deportations in and of themselves a problem or not? If they are a problem, and them happening while Trump is in charge is bad, then they surely were also a problem under Obama and under Obama there were more deportations.

But there wouldn't be another Presidential election until the next time one's due, as I understand it. If Trump is removed his no2 steps up, and starts setting up the Republic of Gilead. There's no election re-run under US law, IIRC.

Um, no, he never called out Mexicans. He was and still is accused of being a secret Muslim  oh, and Trump started to revive the birther shit recently as well. Both those myths were perpetuated as a slightly more palatable reason for saying he was an illegitimate president. Their real reason was, as white supremacists, they couldn't accept that any Black person should ever be in the Oval Office, unless they were a cleaner or something.

Speaking of people bigots don't believe should hold public office, Trump endorsed Roy Moore to be the Senator from Alabama. Well, it's not like sexual assaults of under age girls would bother him. Moore also wrote this.

Roy Moore, accused child molester, contributed to a course guide that said all women are unfit for office

Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate who has faced allegations of preying on teenage girls when he was in his 30s, co-authored a course guide in 2011 that taught students that women are morally unfit to hold elected office.

Moore was a contributor to Vision’s Witherspoon School of Law and Public Policy, which was led by Doug Phillips, the founder of the patriarchy movement that taught that women’s place was in homes under the control of either their fathers or husbands. Vision Forum was shut down in 2013 after Phillips admitted to an extramarital affair with a young woman. The woman later filed a lawsuit claiming that Phillips began grooming her from the age of 15.
