What stupid shit has Trump done today?

BF are a tiny fringe sect who's politics are rejected by >99% of the people in the UK. They aren't going to thrive on anything.

The most popular British political group on facebook, for whatever that's worth. Has their name reached more people this week or not? How many more people have viewed their dubious videos? How many followers/likes have they gained off the back of this? Watch the press use BF's increased profile to give them a platform whenever they need to do some clickbaity 'promoting discussion' articles, and the short journey from that to inclusion where 'balance' and 'hearing from both sides' is required.

I don't see how you can argue that people went for Brexit because politicians and businesses told them not to, then deny such a mechanism exists to drive more supporters to cunts like BF.

Also rallying to their side will be the very effective US far-right activists who already pollute a lot of online discussion over here. That'll be worth something to them.

Things you can learn on this thread:

Deportations are violence and a massive problem when they are happening under Trump.
They weren't happening under Obama or if they were then that was OK and talking about them is basically racist.
Describing a fringe, almost exclusively online, group of bigots in exactly those terms is actually supporting them and supporting Donald Trump.

Nothing. Most people who like their shit probably don't (or didn't) have much an idea of who they are.

People googling them doesn't equal support. They aren't going to gain a huge influx of members over this. A couple of cunts perhaps, but they were a tiny sect before and they'll be a tiny sect after. BF are not UKIP, they aren't going to get regular spots on QT or the like.

Because the two phenomena are utterly distinct. Fascism has a tiny, minute, appeal in the UK, it is in no way comparable with anti-politician feeling. It took 10+ years of hard work for the BNP get the support they did at their height and even then they were always tarred with their background. Anti-politician, anti-establishment feeling is very wide, diverse, driving people in many different directions (towards Corbynite Labour).

Radio yesterday said 20,000 new twitter followers for Jayda, following Trump's endorsement. She's got about 29k today. I think that's the wrong question though, its not really about Britiain Furst becoming a serious political group just about further normalising the extreme hate they stand for. It was a signal loud and clear that if you hate muslims the president of the USA is with you.

This is the type of crap that has destroyed P&P. Because I'm criticising your claim that BF will get a boost of this I'm trying to put a positive spin on Trump tweeting them. Go fuck yourself. Bring back the swappies, they had more intelligence than this.

Why don't you go fuck yourself in turn?

I live in southern Ontario, if I drove fast and sailed through immigration, I could be in the Rust Belt of the US in 90 minutes. I speak to people who are prejudiced against Muslims all the time, and I do so respectfully and try to change their minds by making reasonable arguments. When it comes to the impact of Trump sharing the videos of Britain First, it seems like I know what I'm talking about and you don't. Because you're an expat in Australia and you couldn't get further away from what is happening in North America without traveling to space.

As far as "destroying" P&P goes - maybe you should look at yourself and your humourless, arrogant attitude? You have a certain kind of joylessness and certainty that sucks the life out of any debate, I can remember the days when you followed ernestolynch around the boards looking for approval, the difference between him and you is that conversations he was involved in tended to be entertaining.

Jayda? Like Boris? If you get what I mean.

And you think others don't?

I'm not in Australia, and your contention was that this would boost BF, a UK-based group. So by your own logic I must have a better idea of the situation here in the UK than a an expat in Canada.

I'm not the prick who called someone a war-criminal for disagreeing with their perspective about the UK leaving the EU. I'm not such an idiot that I can't recognise that my enemy's enemy isn't my friend. I can distinguish between someone disagreeing with an analysis without supporting shite.

There's some flashes of personality there but I'm still not really feeling it - I think you need to call me a stupid liberal hypocrite and dig up the post where I said I thought intervening in Libya might be a good idea.

Meanwhile, in the US, the Senate has passed a bill that massively cuts corporation tax, allows oil drilling in the Arctic, and generally ensures a continued transfer of wealth from the poorest to the richest. It's going to go to Trump's desk after it's reconciled with the House bill, he'll be crowing about it long before Christmas, and the debate will continue to be about Obama and Clinton.

I despise the Democratic Party and all the policies that transferred even more wealth to the 1% over the last decade, they are for the most part corrupt and ineffectual fools - but it's still a real fucking shame that Hillary Clinton isn't president, she would be 10 times better than what is happening now.
But her emails

So in the space of about 48 hours, Trump has given a massive boost to Britain First and Islamophobic hate groups, a tax bill that transfers even more wealth to corporations is on the way to his desk, and a bill that allows more drilling for oil in the Arctic has sailed under the radar in the meantime.

Yup, all those assholes who insist the Democrats and Republicans are all the same, and there would be no difference if Trump or Clinton won can go fuck themselves. My nephew and brother in law will probably be dead from treatable conditions within the next year because of that charade in the Senate last night.

To be fair, since the 2010 elections, Republicans controlled the House of Representatives. That's where all legislation originates, so the Democrats were hamstrung for much of that decade. Their main fault was believing they GOP politicians or their supporters were decent human beings, who even if they disagreed with them on policy, would at least respect democratic processes. Nope, dirtier than a sewer rats boxer shorts, all of them.

Inside this giant tax reform bill is a clause reclassifying 'life' and personhood as beginning at conception.
"Ostensibly, the idea is that parents can get a leg up on saving for their kid’s education before he or she is even born. However, it takes care to define the terms “unborn child” and “child in utero,” in what appears to be a naked attempt to establish so-called personhood for fetuses, a popular anti-abortion tactic.."
Republicans Sneak Anti-Abortion Language Into Tax Bill
The GOP tax bill is no place to to attack reproductive rights

Yup, this is absolutely shit, and paves the way for outlawing abortion, and many forms of contraception, with relative ease.

I suspect this clusterfuck of a Trojan Horse bill is choc full of nasty surprises.

Alan's great at the old cross thread beef, so he is.

Indeed. He's given them the boost they desperately craved. Expect at least some support from that corner for Trump's visit to the UK.

"On Dec. 29, a transition adviser to Mr. Trump, K. T. McFarland, wrote in an email to a colleague that sanctions announced hours before by the Obama administration in retaliation for Russian election meddling were aimed at discrediting Mr. Trump’s victory. The sanctions could also make it much harder for Mr. Trump to ease tensions with Russia, “which has just thrown the U.S.A. election to him,” she wrote in the emails obtained by The Times."
Emails Dispute White House Claims That Flynn Acted Independently on Russia

Quite like to see the context of that quote, but It's starting to look like it's over for Trump/Pence, but what's next? Cornered rats after all.
