What stupid shit has Trump done today?

I think it's indicative of the left's impulse to self-destruct and attack itself, which is what helped get Trump elected. That maybe now we should stop the internal struggle and get behind an issue that we more or less agree on, and that's fuck Nazis.

It's not about getting behind an issue. It's about you trying to shut down conversations that you literally don't understand.

No, you say this crap because you want to win arguments on message boards.

Awkward

You think that British posters discussing Clinton on a British messageboard with mostly British contributors was 'empowering Trump'

Probably not so much: but it was a good example of a group of posters from another country pontificating about something where they had no intrinsic grasp of the underlying facts and situation, causing them to go off half-cocked in a major way. :)

OK, and what were those underlying facts and what was the situation?

Frankly the positions of Sanders supporters and those to their left was utterly vindicated by the election results, the whole Clinton campaign strategy was based on the absolute fantasy that she would be able to win over two suburban Republicans for every lost working-class voter. People on the left, most prominently perhaps Doug Henwood, warned about how weak a candidate Clinton was and this was demonstrated in reality.

Yes, those White Nationalists and Neo Nazis were just waiting for a Jewish socialist saviour.

Also, she won by 3m votes in an elect marred with voter suppression & Russian interference, how you can keep announcing with confidence the rerun results of a rigged election is beyond me.

Honestly we could go over the fact that most of the US electorate are not made up of the far-right but why bother, you treat any discussion of anything in any level of depth as hostility.

About 20-25% are far right enough to keep supporting Donald Trump, they're what got him elected (that and Russian Interference & Voter Suppression). I suspect certain posters are still (STILL) hostile to the facts of the Russia Hack because it hurts their #BernieWouldHaveWon agenda.

You've used the words 'far right' incorrectly in that post. The population of the US is not 20% nazis. Stop using what's happened to try and drum up hysteria and shut down debate.

There's about a hardcore 20-24% who if not explicitly racist are certainly tolerant of the far right.
Data show that Trump's real base is 24 percent of the electorate

Sessions, Miller, and much of Trump's cabinet are extremely racist, but for example, Sessions has prosecuted right wing hate groups. They wouldn't classify themselves as far right, but they're in the company and tolerant the far right.

So they're not far right then. Far right is generally an absolute term not a comparative.

What Trump is saying about Amazon is totally accurate, how could you contest it?

This is what could turn out to be worrying, Trump seeing how much power he has and can exercise at his whim.

Because so much shit comes out of Trump's mouth, that anything leaving that particular orifice of his, has a brown tint to it.

I just can't get over how anyone could have thought it a good idea to elect this buffoon to the office of President.

So they're not far right then. Far right is generally a noun not an adjective.

Do you have anything to offer other than pedantry, and my usage of the term is perfectly understandable in the context. No they're not far right themselves but they hold right wing, racist viewpoints.

This is like the time he complained about Amazon not paying "internet taxes". He's attacking Amazon because of Jeff Bezo and the Washington Post.

The 'trump destroys amazon with one tweet' thing is just another stupid indie article. Amazon shareholders are just fine, better off than they were a couple of days ago

But Donald Trump posturing as anti-corporations and pro-tax is just absurd, its insulting surely to suggest anyone will fall for that.

I've corrected my post by the way. I was wrong.

Good. Jeff Bezo's as big a prick as he is.

Because it contradicts one of his items on the NAFTA wish list - to allow online companies to sell to Canadians without having to pay any Canadian taxes.
Canadian Trade team feels that this will do great damage to tax paying retailers. Towns, cities and provinces throughout Canada will be hurt - many jobs being lost, and taxes not collected.

Of course he is: a fact that seems to be flying over the heads of certain U75 posters.

No it isn't, what incredible arrogance. The left is well aware of what Amazon represents, their non payment of taxation is a live issue in Britain. What we reject is the idea that because Trump is attacking Jeff Bezos, we should automatically line up with a corporation which on a daily basis makes the lives of ordinary people worse in such a way that creates the conditions for people like Trump to be elected in the first place.

By attacking Amazon, Trump is betting on people like you being stupid enough to line up with the likes of Amazon. That has gone well over your head.

Once upon a time that would have been considered an abuse of power ....now it's just par for the course

Time for golf

Walmart CEO Doug McMillon, who is on the President's economic advisory council, issued an extraordinary rebuke to Trump in a note to employees on Monday, though has said he will remain engaged with the White House.
"As we watched the events and the response from President Trump over the weekend, we too felt that he missed a critical opportunity to help bring our country together by unequivocally rejecting the appalling actions of white supremacists," McMillon said.

Trump reacted furiously to those CEOs who jumped ship.

"For every CEO that drops out of the Manufacturing Council, I have many to take their place. Grandstanders should not have gone on. JOBS!" he tweeted earlier Tuesday.

The tinpot dictator acts with childish fury when his infantile utterances and behavior are questioned by erstwhile followers.
