I suspect he is going to around for a while and whilst he isn't going to get them back to where they were when Clegg sold his soul to the devil, he is certainly going to preside over a recovery in their fortunes.
He definitely comes across as Embarrassing Dad though, I'm sure there are a couple of teenagers rolling their eyes and pretending they don't know him.

I genuinely forgot who the leader of the Lib Dems was. And without context, I would have had no idea if you asked me who Ed Davey was.
I was there on Monday!
I don't think I saw Davey, but then again, if I had I almost certainly wouldn't know it.
The Scottish Lib Dems are even worse. They've had bloody loads of leaders but no-one's any idea who they are or what they look like cos they're all so blandly interchangeable.
(Current one is Alex Cole-Hamilton apparently. Which I obviously had to look up.)

Not something I usually put that much thought into, but I feel like on some level part of my brain had always assumed there were three of them, I'm not sure I'd realised that Chaka and Demus were one person.
