What do you talk about in your workplace?

I'm far too busy for idle chitchat......

The only conversations in my office are along the lines of:

Me: Jump.
Minion: How high?

Lunchtime?

I don't do "lunchtime".......

I throttle back ever so slightly whilst briefly munching on an energy bar, then it's back to full speed.

Energy bar? that sounds like a far too expensive and sweet item for you. And eating lunch whilst working and posting takes quite awhile and you are a slow eater and I've seen what your lunch is...etc...etc..... :D

Sorry, can't talk now, busy, busy, busy!

I've got half a dozen hostile takeovers & a government to topple, all before my midday power walk around the block.

There tends to be just two of us where I am . Yesterday we had a detailed discussion all morning on where we were going to go for lunch, then all afternoon we were discussing other jobs we were applying for and telling tasteless jokes

Mainly we take the piss out of our students. I've got one who sounds like a giant fly in a bottle. zzzzz zzzzz zzzzz. It's quite sad really. :(

We talked about ryanair, the cheap flights industry as a whole, holidays in italy, the weather, barbecues, waste collection charges vs council tax and shortbread.

We hardly do idle chat at all in our office :( - this is why I need urban, gets the waffle out of my system.

I brought cake in today so the closest I've got to conversation has largely been people saying thanks for the cake

Well, it's Friday, so I talked about weekend plans with the receptionist, and the guy on the other site. Boring - no ones doing anything remotely exciting

do i work with you?:D we talk about our students, moan about other staff and chat random bollocks.

We rarely talk about anything which is not work related, because we are always under such intense pressure. That's why we have to go to the pub every now and then and unwind, even though we mostly talk about work stuff then, too!

I think part of the problem is that trade unionism is a hobby/interest as well as paid employment...

We often debate exactly how much of a stud muffin Orang Utan is.

I say he's 90% stud muffin, 10% fairy cake.

Others say it's more like 50/50.

We talk about how we are going to lose our funding and that there won't be an 'us' anymore!!:( :(

In happier times we talked about whatever the current crisis was for two of my colleagues whether that be family or money mainly. I sometimes talk about sex but pretend I'm talking about what someone else has told me.

We all have to drive to work so can't do the going down the pub thing. I wish we could as I really like my work mates sober and feel they would be even more fun with alcohol.

Today we talked about kefalonia , anal sex , why I think robbie williams is a twat and that the new take that song sounds shit as well . Thats about it for non-work related stuff today for actual conversations !

Very little in the new job. Apart from management cliches and asking where the envelopes are kept.

Rarely talk to the people around me. My ex works there and we're really good friends, also Ghosty (poster here), they're about the only people I talk to.

I talked about baby milk, sandals, nappy rash, my computer being shite, why I wouldn't babysit tomorrow night, Kate Bush's last album.

I also sang some nursery rhymes and read a book about a fish playing hide and seek.

In general the two people I work with are both under the age of two, so not that conversational really :(
