What are your potential self isolation projects?

I sort of learned to weld in February but not had a chance to try my new toy. 5 hours, 2 old radiators, a wheel clamp and now I'm sat in front of a roaring fire. Not the prettiest thing I've ever made but it was nice to have the time to get some practice in. Just need to find some more free metal now.

After breaking my bike last Monday, I fretted for a week finding a replacement, bust a gut on Sunday getting it roadworthy - then I fall ill so couldn't cycle to work on the last day when that was possible ...
And now I'm trapped indoors because if everyone decided to take their exercise on the local railway path like on an average bank holiday, it would be as crowded as Wetherspoons and they would have to call in the army ...

So perhaps I need to improvise a training stand with convenient household materials ...
I could exercise in front of the open front door...

Perhaps I should bring forward my plans to rig up a washing machine for me smalls ...

:hmm:

  • Working from home
  • Having a clear out
  • Getting my daily exercise in before everyone congregates on the empty fields near me once all the other footpaths shut
  • Reading
  • Computer games for the first time in about a decade
  • Sewing/mending
  • Sifting through the ENTIRE CUPBOARD OF PAPERWORK I have been ignoring
  • Journalling
Whew sounds like a lot when I write it out like that! Doesn't feel like it though

Gradually sand down and paint all of the windows. Whilst not falling off a ladder even once because nobody needs to deal with diy accidents.

I'd have loved to have done some work to the flat but I couldn't afford any materials.

I would like to say that I could at least have a spring clean but it is far more likely that I spend the foreseeable playing ESO and drinking tea...

Reading / produce new album / plotting the revolution / smoking dope / watching twin peaks frm start to end / looking for applicable work / looking for the perfect site / smoking more dope / coding / probably commuter games at some point / walking / practice form (wing chun) / meditate (vipassana- now possible due to plane noise reduction! ) / fun electronics projects / give my solar rig a service / fit new wood burner and stack ..... basically as long as i can keep busy/healthy I won't go mad(er) .... that is the theory.

I started a MOOC today.
Moocs are great (massive open online courses). They’re in any subject you can think of.
Mine is a four week course backed by the BFI among others, and is about designing meaningful film education in schools.

I wanted to learn how to ride a unicycle but not very practical in my box, so I've gone for juggling. Whilst there buying those I also bought an intermediate yo-yo to try and improve my yo-yo skills. The price of some of those things

Mine's a stripped down version of yours, Reading, Coding, Meditating and smoking Weed

I ain't doing to bad so far. Started producing 3 tracks , smoked some dope , found a job cutting wood on local farm which is isolated , went for a lovely walk in the woods .... well that is it so far :D

The dope smoking is preventing the wing-chun and meditation TBH.

I am learning to play the ukelele (with grand-daughter...and teaching her to knir.
I had thought I would be steaming ahead with knitting but that window seems to have closed. It's a very seasonal thing for me (despite being only half a sleeve away from finishing my Latvian masterpiece cardigan).
I am going to paint my old black loop frame bike (I have a full set of Craftsman signwitiing enamels)
Possible chance of some paid work restoring carousel horses.
Gardening, as usual.
Been making banners (along with rest of fam) to hang out of windows ('Thank you, key workers')
Wood-turning (but only after a huge workshop clearout)

Here is a couple of tunes I have been working on in the last couple of days.... glitchy messes really so far.

One I have based around a sampled drum pattern using audio to midi tools in ableton -bouncy bouncy ... and the other ... don't know what to do with that TBH
