What are your potential self isolation projects?

Clear out / tidy up went really well today, recycling bin is full and I feel like I have double the space I had this morning. Journalling at a rate of a page a day but I'm worried it might start getting stale. Gotten bored of my computer game, not sure what one I want to play next. Done about half an hours worth of work from home.

Need a serious think about the whole exercising thing, on the one hand lie ins have been really good for me but on the other, those fields are getting gradually more busy so I should probably pick an earlier time to go up there. It's nice to feel the afternoon sun though.

I currently have two Moocs on the go, and another (on screenwriting) starts on Monday.
The others include one which is for work, and one which is about the history of magic in the medieval period!

Worried about the increasing amount of people up my field (along with a police presence up there, which was new) I did a lot more exercise today in case I can't access it for much longer. Bloody knackered myself out and slept the rest of the day away!

I have a range of indoor jobs for during the wet days.
ditto outside in the garden for dry days (no neighbours to worry about !)
and some evening / night-time relaxation planned.

Will be discussing further details of our contingency plans with my fellow directors tomorrow.

Made a major start in the garden - cut the grass and more "hedge-pruning" plus general tidying up. Washed the outside of the smaller greenhouse.
Sorted the seed box !

Inside - nowt yet, as apart from today it has been finer weather than predicted (today was very cold)

Workshop - after some discussions; the guys are working slightly different shifts and we have enough room to be more than 2m apart ... one of the others should be "shielding" given his health situation and another has a nurse for a partner so will be wfh after this week (doing some design / planning work) currently self-isolating as an interim measure.

We've got some pallets lying around and I too have considered making some planters, but I also ran into the question of where I would get the dirt to fill them with.

I used an online calculator to work out how much soil I need and it would be about 500 liters, which will cost £35 from B&Q in 100 liter bags or might get a bulk bag of 1000 liters, which would cost a bit more as it has to be delivered.

I got the pallets from outside a Howdens kitchen place. They're perfect for the job as have nice long 4x4 supports, though they would need cutting up or taking apart if you don't have a massive van or roof rack.

Mine appears to be drinking spirits. Dunno why, didn't exactly go out much pre lockdown, barely drink these days, yet now I'm battering the hard stuff from 6pm every night. Currently drinking some portuguese aguardiente that I didn't know I had, looks years old, sort of hybrid of irish whiskey and rum. Drank so much cheap gin last night I pulled my shorts up before I'd stopped weeing

I'm on cheap brandy at the moment. I may move on to armagnac next.

New isolation project.

Had a letter a week ago, obviously something that was arranged before all this kicked off. The letter was advertising a street party in our street, with contact details for people so you could register interest and wot not. So, I'm going to try and see if I can get our little street, which is in nice area so people may have some spare funds, I'm going to see if I can get people to get together and donate some PPE and then we can take it to our loccal hospital. If everyone in my street spent £50, we could buy a tonne of air fed respirators, gloves, googles, disposable suits and more.

Going to rebuild the brake calipers on my motorbike.
Get motorcycle MOT ready
Start all my vegetable plants from seed
Paint the hallway
Put up paintings
Tidy the loft
Put up a CB radio aerial and start transmitting
Tidy the front garden
Start flowers from seed for front and back garden
Put up cooker hood
Rebuild kitchen drawer
Start fermenting copious amounts of beer and cider
Build a mobile sound system

I have 11 weeks of isolation to get this lot completed.
No physical girlfriend or friends or family distractions.

The house is very clean and tidy. :)

More computer games today, slipping into a mon-fri fairly structured routine and then dossing all weekend (Ive been taking this isolating thing really seriously for at least three weeks now) which is fucking excellent. Not had this routine since before I was with my ex

feh, ashamed to say I have spent far too much time pissing about on the sofa (we now both have backache). I did have a list but the only useful thing I have achieved is to empty the pots off the single garden chair...but have been too frazzled to actually sit in it apart from one cup of tea.
the house resembles some fetid pit of shame while I have taken to having long baths. Sweetheart has watched a shitload of old football games while the nadir of my viewing has been Ramsey's kitchen nightmares. I hate TV, I hate Gordon Ramsay, this cannot continue.

Today I am in my pants.

I am off now for 10 days...in no particular order..

  • Many zoom/pub hub meeting with different groups for different reasons including choir rehearsal.
  • Gonna give the bathroom a white wash of paint.
  • I have a ton of wonderful fabric, threads, padding, strapping for sewing projects as the fancy takes me.
  • COOK, COOK, COOK!
  • I am setting myself up tech wise to livestream, nearly sorted and will be djing for a mate's online 50th Birthday party this week.
  • Gardening as much as possible.
  • Continue to shop and deliver to people self isolating in my Road.
  • Chilling the fuck out and resting.

We have a theoretical** plan to catch up on a shedload of DVDs that we have, so many of which we've never got around to watching prior to pandemic, mainly (in normal times) because pub, gigs, festivals, etc.

**Theoretical so far , but we're going to have plenty of time over coming weeks, by the look of it :(
