What are your potential self isolation projects?

I am off now for 19 days...in no particular order..

  • Many zoom/pub hub meeting with different groups for different reasons including choir rehearsal.
  • Gonna give the bathroom a white wash of paint.
  • I have a ton of wonderful fabric, threads, padding, strapping for sewing projects as the fancy takes me.
  • COOK, COOK, COOK!
  • I am setting myself up tech wise to livestream, nearly sorted and will be djing for a mate's online 50th Birthday party this week.
  • Gardening as much as possible.
  • Continue to shop and deliver to people self isolating in my Road.
  • Chilling the fuck out and resting.
And chill the fuck out and rest ?
My spirit animal is a sloth! :D

I'm supposed to be writing/finishing songs so Mr K and I can finally put out that album we said we'd do twenty years ago...he's written all this great music, but I'm struggling to come up with anything

I have rashly volunteered to do a mixdown.

The plan is, our maestro records a piano accompaniment (done) for Let The River Run, emails it out to the choir (done), who listen to it on headphones while singing their line into a Recording Device. They then send me the recording, which I tidy up, and assemble (using Audacity) into a multitrack recording, which I then mix to a stereo track.

So far, the ex-formerly-known-as-Mrs-E has contributed a soprano line, her daughter has provided an alto one, I've recorded my customary tenor, and - because the basses are always late for everything - a provisional bass line.

So far, so good. But we have one alto who's decided she can't sing AND listen to the backing track (how does she manage in choir???), so is going to freestyle it, good luck with that, darling :hmm: Mind you, she's usually half a beat behind anyway, so perhaps it'll be an improvement?

Some of the choir want a video, but TBH I think I'd rather get them to mime to the finished recording than record video and audio together. We could all get together on Zoom, I'll play the audio and just film them all like Celebrity Squares :D

I taught myself torrents, I've always given up before. It was what I'd call a project

Am very pleased with myself.
Do you mean ,You've taught yourself how to write the code to create a Torrent or you've figured out how to download Torrents ?

And here's my own choir's effort (same pianist):

From the Soundcloud blurb:
This is Tempus, doing a "lockdown recording" - we got the backing track emailed to us, we all recorded our parts on our phones while listening to the backing on headphones, and someone then converted, mixed, and edited them all together to produce...THIS!

The ongoing house-cleaning project has been going pretty well, and I have continuing plans -- I am not working (albeit paid -- I'm very lucky  ) whereas festivaldeb is WFH five days a week, so she's the task-mistress :p

All our very many books will be free of (several years-worth  ) of dust over coming days ....... we've guessed that in total there's not far off a thousand in the house
I'm too busy cleaning the house and being on here :) to read many of them though

Another imminent plan is cleaning the curtains and furniture throws, as well as just the usual duvet covers and related bedding.
But I've done absolutely loads of stuff already, a great one from a fortnight ago was getting the bikes sorted out for our exercise routine :)

The house needed repainting and it's about half done. Most bedrooms and all bathrooms still to do.

I haven't touched a brush and Mrs Shoes has done it all. But I still enjoy the satisfaction of seeing a job well done

My layoff was cut shorter than anticipated so I've had to work through my weekend's to get this finished in time for planting. A 3 ' deep hugelkultur garden bed with woven and stacked branch walls built into last years garden bed. Hopefully I can get it filled this weekend or next.View attachment 211224
Looks like you're at the last hurdle LOL

Was literally just about to start the same post!

Learn French, although might now never go there again! Really would like to do Russian or Arabic but I'm too lazy and my brain is too small.
Have a banjo that's been gathering dust for a decade and I cannot play at all, that might be something to do. Can maybe even find online lessons or teacher.
Re-paint the bathroom and stick some more bookshelves up in the lounge maybe.
Started a Capital reading group a month or so ago, really want to keep that going so will look into online options.
Definitely will do some home based exercise program, although will keep running as long as seems sensible.

Also have a few boxes of old notebooks and letters that need sorting out. I finished sorting out about 50 family photo albums a month or so ago, that would have been a good one.

Summary of my (limited) achievements from the above:

Not learnt any French.
Not played any banjo.
Not painted the bathroom or put up any shelves.
I am doing the Capital reading group.
I am running still, have yet to change to any other exercise as doing a 10 week running program.
I did sort out the boxes of notebooks and letters, only took half a day though. Most went in the bin.

Not a high achiever (as my school report used to say).

Did you 'supervise' though?
