What are your potential self isolation projects?

our plan was to demolish the shed to include removal of dodgy materials and then replace it with a new, insulated one. but that's organisation and £££s and big disruption, vs nip in with a mask on, clear out, seal/paint/patch and then use as a fair-weather workshop and screaming room for the duration of school closures/wfh?

eta: it's well ventilated! :hopeful:
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but absolutely not. There are laws for the removal and disposal of asbestos, huge fines if you don't comply, and I'm afraid approved companies are expensive. Full info here. Sorry. https://www.hse.gov.uk/pubns/guidance/em9.pdf

i remember checking and it was above the size they'll take at the tip, so we'd have to get someone in IF we had any intention of removing or disposing of it.

I have a nutcase software project I dreamt up, for a static site generator that can produce a site with a million pages. This means shifting some paradigms and using some concepts from big data stuff I've done in the past.

Unfortunately I can probably finish it in a week and may even do so this week :(

I have a range of indoor jobs for during the wet days.
ditto outside in the garden for dry days (no neighbours to worry about !)
and some evening / night-time relaxation planned.

Will be discussing further details of our contingency plans with my fellow directors tomorrow.

Feverishly clean and reclean things.
Do exercises for back and shoulders that I allegedly never have time to do.
See if I can fix my wi fit
Catalogue digital photos
Take down my winter ornaments
Enjoy touching things that havent been touched since before C19

Having a big clear out and cleaning the windows.
Weeding the garden.
Painting the bannisters and hall. Probably the front door too.
All things I should be doing but don't get the time.

Go on bike rides , 3-4 times a week. Finish making my speakers , taken 3 years to cut the wood so 12 weeks of boredom should help with it.

No.

IF I do have to do this, I could catch up on reading and there would be no better excuse than now to stretch myself with cooking, trying out new and more difficult recipes. :)
It's not happened, yet though.

I've noticed people are stockpiling strong-smelling chemicals and donning respirators so I figured it would be a good time to start up a meth lab without raising the slightest suspicion.
Ha ha.

I was thinking of doing a mescaline extraction and maybe some DMT as I'm sure I have almost everything I need. But I've said this for years so I'll probably end up doing a bit of gardening, painting and mostly sitting round in me undercrackers reading.

I’ll be trying to keep two pre-school kids (1 & 4) entertained in a two-bed flat, potentially for twelve weeks as I’m in the ‘at risk’ category. I’ll go out of my fucking mind.

Obviously sacked off the gym now, slightly annoying as next week was the last week of my strength program. Having a rest week this week then I might start running, although seriously considering splashing out on a Concept2 rowing machine or Airdyne bike to beast myself into a lean machine this next year!

at a somewhat bleak(er) point in my life i sacked off watching better call saul in something like season 2. so that's me mostly sorted tbf

My health problems mean I have been really isolated for months.
I have fixed, repaired, cleaned everything i own.
Everytime i get paranoid about death and Corona (i have precarious pre existing condition) and cant sleep I get up and clean, tidy and polish things.
The house and garden are looking neat as a pin as a result. This destresses me greatly.

When the motorbike is finished I am going on a long trip.
