West Ham United. 2019-20

Ooh, we got Haller! I still expect us to be signing players like Mike Small or Benni McCarthy. Quite a tidy looking attack now.

Mid-summer optimism alert

I know! I'm well excited. He looks perfect. Silky skills but also 6' 3".

Previously unknown tropical disease brought into Jamaica docks on a ghost ship that was lost at sea 250 years ago. Only affects Frenchmen with the initials "SH". He has to go onto a ventilator and have one of those iron lung things in his house. Never walks again.

Reece Oxford has finally gone...to Augsburg...for pennies. He was the future once. Should've sold to Man utd when we had the chance.

A few old Irons playing last night for Luton - Eliot Lee, Dan Potts, Pelly Ruddock, George Moncur...good to see they've all made it to the championship

But I don't think we've released any superstars.

Arnautovic is the only real miss, and maybe Pedro & Adrian

Should be an interesting season. All the indications are at the moment that were going to score and concede loads.

Adrian signed for Liverpool!
Fabianski might be injured for this weekend so we're going to look a bit silly if this Roberto fella makes a hash of things against City. On the other hand, we'll probably get humped 4-0 regardless of the goalie so probably no-one will notice.

VAR was ridiculous. Complete waste of time and turned it into a farce. A really fragmented boring farce.

We were rubbish after half time. Wilshere and Anderson are both injured I think.

Still, at least it's out of the way. It was almost competitive for 45 minutes.

I thought Haller was good.

As you say up until half time we were competitive , strangely I saw enough positives that leaving after a 5-0 drubbing I remain optimistic for a big improvement over last season Thankfully we don’t play MC every week .

2 successive away wins! Exciting times.
But now Antonio is out for 4 months. Shame as he seems to have been making quite a bit of difference. Hey ho.
Norwich have started well so Saturday is a good test.

4 months???! :( I feel sorry for him, always been one of my favourite players and he took ages to get his form back last time.

Norwich will be a goalfest. Just depends which striker gets a hattrick, ours or theirs.

That second half was beautiful.

I mean, I loved the quick attacking play. Anderson was great,Haller was strong and clever. But Norwich had two chances in the whole game. They've scored in every one of their last 30. Pukki had 5 goals in 3 or whatever. I thought we were solid. And Anderson was unplayable at times in that second half.

I'm a little surprised we let Chicharito go when Antonio is out for a good while. Leave us with only Haller and Ajeti up front. Or does Yarmolenko count as a striker?

Ho hum. I thought we were quite smart going forward and never looked in too much trouble. I liked the middle 3, but Anderson and yarmo were a bit meh. It would've been nice to have Antonio for the last half hour.
Respect the point etc.

Shocking decision by Dean. But I can't even get too upset about that. Point away is always alright, specially when you've had a player sent off by that absolute fucking wanker of a man.

I don't really have much of a memory for referees but Mike Dean does seem peculiarly unpopular.
He should've sent off Elghezi for the headbutt. It would've been funny if the other fella had dived, clutching his face and rolling around just out of habit.

There was the studs up tackle on haller, nobes should have been off for diving... Masuaku hardly touched the bloke. Barely a foul, let alone a yellow. Not saying we should have won or anything but I don't know if VAR is even still working. Since the first couple of games it seems to have just been quietly forgotten.

Cresswell's free-kick was a bit of a throwback! I think he scored 2 like that Everton back at Ye Olde Boleyne, and we're now the form team (apart from Liverpool). Good job we don't have any European distractions.
I wonder what terrible thing will happen to ruin it all?

Aw, we're never gonna win the bloody league cup are we. At least we got the embarassing defeat out of the way early in the competition.
