Hard to say who is more fucked at the moment, property is falling in both (that's the basis for long term loans and backbone) and it ain't just lack of faith: China need dollar.. got outstanding payments to overseas investors to think about if nothing else Country Garden on brink of default as payment deadline nears. Meanwhile 30 year US mortgage rates...that's 2007 numbers

It doesn't seem to be sustainable so it's either cut government spending on healthcare and benefits or let inflation run hotter for longer (destroys real value of debt).
