Uruguay v Ghana

shame for ghana. s'always the way. gotta love uruguay though - they are a small country and despite past succeses are still the most underdog team left in it (well maybe apart from paraguay but i expect them to get mullered by spain)

surprised to discover their population is only 3m. huge footballing heritage.

Who to back?
The team that cheats the least and plays the most football to win it seems.
Who's the "fairest" (a relative term) out of those left? Germany? even errr, Argentina...

Correct.

Scoring a goal with your hand and getting away with it is entirely different to handling in the box and getting sent off. Hardly his fault Ghana bottled the penalty.

Or his handball kept Uruguay in the game and advance to the semis?

yep, and Ghana missed the fucking penalty for christ's sake!!!

.. and then some more during the shoot out

the point is their definite goal was prevented by cheating, which gave uruguay a chance to take it to pens since gyan wouldn't definitely score the pen awarded for the suarez punch.

far simpler if they just awarded a penalty goal, since it should've been a goal.

That's an over-reaction. You see plenty of deliberate handballs in English domestic football. Who was it that palmed the ball over the bar for Arsenal in the FA Cup final? Uruguay are no more cheaty than Ghana.

Can't imagine many players in the same position who wouldn't have instinctively reacted in the same way, can you?
