It is sooo good, the venue helps too it fits perfectly. Early pub raves are perfect for the "maturer" raver like me

If any one is around in the North East, I'm very much looking forward to this next month in Newcastle - 27th September - Municipal - Bas Mooy + SHXCXCHCXSH - at Star and Shadow Cinema. Municipal have been putting on interesting and absolutely excellent nights, and the new Star and Shadow soundsystem is top notch for that size of venue.
I'm also probably going to 13th September: Detox 18th Birthday - Cosmic Ballroom, Newcastle for a bit of messiness and nostalgia. Horrible venue though.

would anyone fancy seeing a Red Axes all nighter at Superstition, East London, 22nd Feb.
It'll kind of be my birthday, well that's on the 1st of Feb but I doubt I'll be doing anything on the actual day and would rather save energy / cash for something better, like this.
I feel I need one last big london rave experience before I retire.

red axes are a dj/producer duo from tel aviv but based in amsterdam.
they play a lot of leftfield house/ techno, really percussive a dubby stuff as well as a lot of punk and 80s no wave, synth-y stuff too.
this is one of my fav mixes for a while now,
not sure of the venue tho;

Sounds good, I'll give it a bash today
It's a great club. Small, low ceiling, Funktion 1 soundsystem, no cunts, decent line ups, late finishes, reasonable beer prices (for a club).

Oh, the downsides:
It's maybe too small? It's a dancefloor, a bar, a toilet and that's it. No seating area, nowhere to go except outside to get away from it. You might think this is a plus...
It gets very busy.
Very young crowd most nights. Again, YMMV whether this is good or bad to you.

printworks is another venue that's had a good review in general.
seems to be a few of these popping up in recent years.
last time I went out to anything similar it was to the oval space, the one next to the pickle factory.
quite a good venue again, little on the large side fore me personally though.

Did you go? I've heard bad things. A mate of a mate complained about the sound to a bouncer so they searched him, found something and the poor lad spent the night in a cell.
