Ukraine

[. . .] I know nothing about the film-maker.

The vid you kindly posted, credited to the film-maker you named, accompanied a lead story in yesterday evening's 'Times of Germany', the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung:
http://www.faz.net/aktuell/politik/...-die-strafe-folgt-auf-dem-fusse-12809917.html

At that site the vid had a compulsory advert, from Nivea for Men. It starts, somewhat like the topic or Molotov drink in hand, with a demolition crew, & it ends, unlike the topic in hand, with a German slogan which in English is "0% alcohol, no burning".

I think the days of thinking there are clear strings to puppets and their masters are more or less over. Sure the Russians are well and truly inside this, but to lay it all at their doorstep seems naive to me.

A lot more here than seen at face value? Worst case scenario could be the seeds of some sort of limited civil war at best a return to the long term power struggle? Putins Russia I would guess wants absolute control of former Soviet states?

if the same thing happened in the UK you might well find yourself filling bottles with petrol next to someone from the edl or ukip.

Ok but I wouldn't expect mainstream leaders to be sharing a platform with extreme far right. Like others I've questioned CR's analysis of the situation but a lot of what he warned about does seem apparent. This isn't a couple of edl types this is vast swathes of hard far right, and knowing this what are the others doing standing shoulder to shoulder with them?

What I'm saying is it seems to me there are more players than Russia and that simply claiming they are the puppet-masters is an oversimplification.

Many priests on that stage in the square. What do they do all day apart from egging people on to have a go at the coppers.

Either way Putin must be proper pissed, he's spunked fuck tons of cash on his sledging and pebble sliding event and instead everyone is more focused on the utter chaos on his door step.

The people from the far right that have been concentrated on here (and it's precisely the mainstream media's ignoring of them, allied with the dangers them gaining the upper hand would bring socially and regionally that's led to that concentration) are far far beyond the edl or UKIP.

I don't want to look for myself because i'd rather not have those sites in my search history but i'd be interested to see what the fash are saying about it? In terms of the makeup of the protests and their chance of "success"/a positive outcome for the fash, and also in terms of links to far-right groups here?
what are they saying about it on websites like scumfront?

Really don't know, problem with those sites - and the one you mention in particular - is that it's all armchair bollocks. Whereas the people involved right now in the Ukraine are the real deal. So there's going to be a gap between how they view things i expect - and i wouldn't take stuff off places like that as any reliable indication of anything to do with what's actually happening and how the players see things.

Maybe another letter from a supposed fascist in today's 'Weekly Worker'?

I assume they don't like the far right but hate the government & Russia more.

Serious amounts of dosh have been made. They're laughing at the games and those who died or were robbed making them happen.

There's no way I'm going through their 200+ page thread but these pics are alleged to have been taken inside one of the buildings they took over.

They don't seem to have much to say about this 'story' yet.

A former Israeli army officer is playing a leading role in the anti-government protests in Ukraine, PressTV has reported.

they are fighting russians..russian imperial foreign policy turned some of this people into extreme ukrainian nationalists..similar example would be the rise of radical islamism in former english colonies ..do you understand?? ..if this protests turn out right they will be a problem for a while but they will disappear ..few nutcases will allways remain ..this happened in most of eastern europe and hopefully it will happen in ukraine..they are in beginning stages of democracy ..they have to start somewhere

If this protest turns out right?

Can you expand on that please?

Butchersapron - yes you're right. The British Movement or BNP I should have said.

But I think prior to the uprising/protests there was a lot of evidence that the far right were relatively popular in Ukraine.
As such it isn't that amazing they are involved.

And even Time magazine are covering them...

Really? I thought they were fighting other Ukrainians, the ones who work for the opposite oligarch faction.
