its a bit concerning that these claims are so widespread and obviously being leaked by senior NATO figures when so demonstrably false . Ive a small but growing fear this could be a pretext for an assault on Transnistria Moldovans on one front and the junta on the other, supported by NATO members Romania. Weve seen it before in South Ossetia. In fact weve seen that sort of thing in Transnistria before.

I dont see what else the intended purpose of this deliberate misinformation could be except to justify a military build up around that troublesome enclave.

I doubt this. Ukraine still has very close links to Russia. Of all people, Henry Kissinger spoke some sense on the issue, saying that Ukraine's historical links to Russia should not be underplayed and cannot be dismissed by the West.
