Tory MP Crispin Blunt: 'I out myself as poppers user'

I'm feeling quite intolerant of idiots right now.
Just gonna sniff some poppers and see if i feel any different.
Hang on...

Some kids in my school got high on MDMA and went to attack asylum seekers :(

There's always an exception to the rule but MDMA is usually associated with bringing people, sometimes people in conflict, together. There's a popular theory that ecstasy reduced football hooliganism. I am unable to have an argument while on E.

There are people who are totally capable of fighting on MDMA, in fact I know people who it makes aggressive. I don't understand it at all myself but it's true.

romantic bollocks

Nah. Not at all. My behaviour changes on E. I've had people tell me how 'nice' they feel on E compared to booze and/or coke. I suppose if someone has racist opinions, then those opinions might be expressed in conversation, E being a truth drug, but it would be highly unusual for anyone to get into an argument/scrap while 'up', IME.

maybe yours does, but not if you're a knuckledragging thug, blue vein writhing on your forehead like an angry snake. You're still gonna twat someone

Dunno. Was talking to a couple of E'd up blokes in Ibiza last summer. The previous night they'd been on booze/coke and fighting with other people in a bar, then the police when they came. They remarked on how nice and chilled they felt on MD, before telling me sexual stuff blokes wouldn't generally discuss with mates, never mind a stranger. :D An anecdote... but that fits in with most of the behaviour I've seen on E.

Johnny I'm totally with ya and really distressed to hear these bad stories from others.
Could these cunts who did shit have also been mightily pissed up as well? Remember alcohol changes everything..
Couple that with substances sometimes/with some people (myself included, with weed in particular) purely emphasising your current headstate (and so perhaps opinions etc)?

i think there are stats that show footy hooliganism fell steeply 88-92, and anyone who used to go at the time knows from their own experience, that that was very much the case. There was probably going to be a lull anyway, in terms of subcultural/cyclical change - the old post soul boy 'casual' era was tapering (before coming back stronger in the Stone Island era ) , the 80's were ending, Hillsborough put the whole thing in perspective .

But the much repeated tropes involving rival firms e'd up / hugging at acid house do's were based in fact. (West Hams mob / ICFs involvement in Centreforce Radio / Echoes nightclub, and then main face AS involvement in successful record labels throughout the 90's is a matter of record ) .

The Boys Own / post Shoom balearic scene in London / around London 88-92 , always had a big contingent of football lads , 'faces' etc ( Boys Own was run by Chelsea boys, though not full on firm ) etc , all v e'd up, and you 'd never ever get a hint of trouble, it would have been ridiculous / unthinkable at the time. That was E.

It wasn't all sunshine and roses, obviously, and outside of the better parties, there was obviously bad shit going down every now and again, but purely over business/hustle related matters. As i say, at the time fighting over football clubs would have have seemed ridiculous.

the sort of sentences and punishments they started handing out to footie violence must have had its own effect?

Not really, it just moved away from the grounds and became better organised.

This wasn't spontaneous:

Yeah, when he said he used poppers he meant as a room incense, like it said on the bottle, and occasionally as an aftershave.
