At least it came to nothing for the culprit. I’m aware of at least one case in America where someone in police custody was actually charged with assault for farting in a confined space next to some coppers. Must have been a real stinker.
As yet another example of American police’s heavy handedness compared to their British counterparts, I recently read about an arrested suspect being interviewed by police here, who instead of answering verbally to the questions he farted loudly whenever he was asked a question. The coppers had to postpone/ end the interview but no reports of him being charged for it.
Frankly if I’d been a copper in that interview room I’d have both laughed my arse off and high fived the bloke.
