My barber informed me the other night there is no such thing as Covid, the vaccine is just water being sold to us by German drugs companies because they're still fucked off about the war and the NHS is fine, no pressure there. He's a good guy otherwise and was wielding a fairly hefty hairdryer and some snippy scissors at the time so I kept schtum.

Anyway, had a fairly wideranging debate with my antivaxxer housemate after I got the booster the other week - I usually just try to avoid bringing it up when he's around, but I was already talking to one of my other housemates in the kitchen when he came in, so it was inevitable. He was at pains to tell me that he thinks covid is real, but the vaccines are fake, and regards the fact of people having to have booster shots as a killer blow for his argument. I pointed out that one of our housemates had been to the dentist that day, even though he'd already been to the dentist the year before, but think that went a bit over his head. I also brought up restrictions being lifted in the summer due to the vaccination programme and asked what he thought about that, but he just said something like "you do not need lockdown when it's sunny". He kept going on about what an inconvenience it was for me to have had a third shot so I just said I didn't really give a shit because getting vaccinated has had no negative impact on my life, and he said that maybe in five years "my cock will look like a turtle". So I said that, if and when that if that happens, I'll agree he was right.
