The all boxing thread

According to some sources Usyk went to hospital after the fight to get his jaw X-rayed .

the least of it....watching it it looks like they can take the hits but 36 minutes of being punched by a heavyweight championship boxer does a lot of damage, way more than the little cuts around the eyes. its grim brain damage stuff to be honest...the punch drunk interviews were horrible to watch. Happy new year!!

I just timed how long between the huge left that visibly befuddled Fury and the ref stopping to count him. 22 seconds, no punches thrown and no defending for at least half that other than reeling around the ring. Nobody could have complained had it been stopped, but if it'd been a draw or a win for Fury, Usyk would have felt aggreived.

No VAR in boxing either.

Still can't get over Usyk. Fury had that sewn up. Those three or four rounds were so one sided and then he somehow managed to change it up. Amazing.

All changed IMO when Fury’s nose was broken around the 6th, I think.

But I need to watch again, I watched it at a mates birthday party with about a dozen others, most on mushrooms.
I watched that Holyfield fight where the guy paraglided into the ring on mushrooms. That was quite the experience.

"I believe I won that fight. And I believe he won a few of the rounds, but I won the majority of them.

I believe we both put on a good fight - best we could do. And, you know, his country is at war. People are siding with the country at war."

Tyson Fury disgraces himself too often to be a source of national pride

been finished since he last fight against Fury,

to afraid of a counter punch. Zhang was moving alright for a big fella at his age and weight mind

hmm not that i'm in favor of the Saudi shows but jebus are they showing how bad the heavy weight division has been booked over the last decade
all the dream fight that could of been are slowing being shut down.. i mean what left parker vs Zhang :hmm:

Deontay Wilder appeared to be trying to run away when he was knocked out:

Protect yourself at all times. Only drop your hands when the fight is done.

Wilder is finished, end of. He's tried to come back from high profile defeat more than once and been found out. Maybe his heart has gone and that's fatal, perhaps literally so, for any boxer. There's been signs of him not wanting to be in there before. His management need to stop milking him and do the right thing. I won't hold my breath though. If Wilder moans about this then that's David Haye territory with excuses. Wilder has had a decent enough run, it's time for him to talk away with some money (assuming he hasn't been fucked like Mike Tyson was) and much more importantly his faculties and dignity.

It's certainly shown Tyson Fury up hasn't it? Wilder being battered like a Mars Bar again points towards Fury only beating bums and has beens. His hat trick v Wilder could have been legacy sealing fights v AJ and whoever else but he knew wa'gwan v Wilder, knew he was a busted flush.

As someone with no knowledge of boxing etiquette it did seem to me that Wilder was trying to make some kind of complaint to the referee at the point when Zhang snuck up and K.O,d him.But perhaps that's just the way it goes in the professional sport.
