So it looks like today… a day’s extension of the SCOTUS term will be the day we get the immunity decision. At this point they’re trolling the entire American public… “we can drag this out as long as we want because, fuck you”.

After yet another term of the court smashing a wrecking ball through long established legal doctrines, stripping US citizens of rights, further gutting democracy, reducing the ability of courts to function and government agencies to govern, amassing even more power for itself and of course, giving Trump an escape hatch for trying to eradicate democracy (whatever it decides today) surely it’s time to prioritise court reform as a matter of urgency?

Let the President violate the law, let him exploit the trappings of his office for personal gain, let him use his officialpower for evil ends. How the fuck are these pro-fascist client "judges" just allowed to get away with this? At some point, the egregious and unbounded nature of their assaults on democracy, rights and the rule of law must yeild the reaction "we don't give a fuck who you are, you can't do this shit anymore".

If Trump isn't comprehensively defeated in November and if SCOTUS radically reformed or packed then you can kiss goodbye to the last vestigages of democracy and the republic altogether.

And if he is defeated (not sure he will be) there's a chance of mayhem. That kind of subservience, ideology and idolatry isn't going back in the bottle...
 
The double standards are extraordinary. The US doesn't sign up for much in the way of international law, but presumably they wouldn't extend this courtesy to the heads of state of other countries. Putin, a criminal? Not at all. Can't be. He's a President.
