A crazy bulbous punchbag of sound
But what is this song that you had on repeat when you were too drunk to remember? My number one song has to be a mistake or a pocket dial or something. I swear I only listened to it once.

Slightly skewed by a personal mission to create a better Manics best of than official one, plus repeated plays of This Is Yesterday to learn the guitar parts.

Ditto pal. I’ve listened to them more than 99.5% of everyone else, and that’s not including vinyl and CD plays. The obsession is deep.
Jane Weaver the only remotely modern person on my list too Hollis. Unless you count Radiohead, which is pushing it a bit imo.
Well yeah but they've been around a bit. Mind you so has Jane Weaver thinking about it. I only got into her this year.Radiohead still make music, don't they?

Fair enough. Due something new from them next year I'd hope? I liked the Kid A Amnesiac reissue. Some lovely stuff on that.Ed Sheeran has been around for a much shorter time than Radiohead. Not sure that makes him more relevant or important! I still regard the head and many of the solo projects of the various members as a vital part of modern music.
Bit surprised by Britpop on there tbh but there might be a Twitter listening party or two that skewed that. This sounds about right for me, although New Wave covers a multitude of sins so I'm not entirely sure about that.

My other half is prone to euphoric nostalgia according to Spotify.Mine are 'happy' and 'uplifting'. This is very much due to having to find mutually acceptable stuff for the kitchen - left to my own devices I think it would be more 'aggressive' and 'miserable.'

Exactly that, yep.Put your hands in the air and make some noise!
That type of 1991 euphoric nostalgia?
