So, you're on Mastermind. What's your specialist subject?

I got more questions right than Wayne Hemingway did on disco music, so maybe that, or something else music related.
I know what my dad's would be - Antarctica.
He appears to have read all these books on it:

Has to be a subject not too broad, Leeds UFC is far too broad, Leeds UFC 1976-1991 is cool.

Personally I'll take 'The Novels of Tom Sharpe' please.

Oh, and the celebrity Mastermind that's on right now, are the questions far easier than regular mastermind? I'm getting around 90% of the general knowledge ones correct!

They're a lot easier, even the specialist questions. One of the disco questions asked what disco film john travolta starred in

trade union militancy in the 1970s  (though I'd wager there's a fair few on here, who would know a lot more than me...)

I tend to get fairly obsessed about a particular subject, read loads around it and then move on. So at the moment my specialist subject would be Gladiatorial spectacle between c. 250 BCE - 0 CE; or The Flavian Amphitheatre (the Colosseum).

I do the same. :)

For me, it would be either:

The films of John Carpenter

Russian Jacobinism 1870-1890s (ish)

Rural rebellion and Communist insurgency in Cambodia, 1967-1970

I find it quite trying at times, on my third book about Gladiators this year, with about four more on my table at home...and I was searching for a couple more earlier.

There was only about 6 of them. Would be too easy.

If I am interested in something, I want to the know most I can about it. Resources allowing.

Urban Fuckwit Offenderati 2005-11.

In particular, I look forward to the little chat with John Humphrys at the beginning of the general round.
