it was the model for the olympick park thing
Nice joke but I think the model for the Olympic Park "thing" was really Tatlin's Tower which only existed as a diagram until now.

It looks HIDEOUS.
No, those are your words. Not mine. If visitor numbers have risen that's good for local businesses but it could be as a result of other factors. Maybe there's proven market research that says day trippers would love the seafront and the pier to stay exactly as it is forever. Doubt it, somehow. So you're saying that things need to change because visitor numbers are falling?
Oh, wait...
There is indeed research which shows that they mainly come for the beach and are pretty much pleased with their overall experience. No, those are your words. Not mine. When asked to specify which attraction(s) they had visited or planned to visit during their trip, overwhelmingly the most popular was the pier (41%). This was followed by the Lanes (12% and Pavilion (9%).
i'd have thought 2013, 2014 the figures would be boosted by the thousands who turned out to oppose the march for england - and the few score sad arses who attended it. Mr.Bishie
When they get bashed each year, it's a bit like La Tomatino in Spain. The March for England is just another seaside spectacle amongst dozens. Good fun as it is - I doubt it gets the numbers of the Kitesurfing Festival or the London to Brighton egg and spoon race.
So your argument seems to be inferring, by doing nothing about the pier, visitor numbers are increasing. Right. Good plan.how's it been in the past five years?

I know, I was at the Blackpool one last year and was me who got bashed rather than the fash. Anyway, back to piers...Don't believe the hype.

We've definitely got a beach, it's just that that the sand is quite big. Either that or you wait till low tide for the smaller stuff.Margate’s better. And while it might not have a pier, it at least has a beach
Pfff a ‘beach’ with pebbles is no beach. It’s just an edge. Perfect for Brighton edgelords. We've definitely got a beach, it's just that that the sand is quite big. Either that or you wait till low tide for the smaller stuff.

Edge? No that would be a cliff; have you never heard of shingle?Pfff a ‘beach’ with pebbles is no beach. It’s just an edge. Perfect for Brighton edgelords.
It has different owners than it did at the time of the West Pier fire.Everyone in Brighton says it's the owners of the Palace pier that burnt down the west pier. Is this true? If so it doesn't seem it's a business worthy of anyone's support and should be boycotted.
