Sleaford Mods

They’re launching the album at a gig in London later this month. I think there was some trouble with Nottingham on the last tour too, I think it was a seated venue :hmm:

I’m seeing them next month and again in May with Badgers

Going to see them in Leeds in March, looking forward to it, it'll be first time I've seen them.

Haha imagine trying to watch them seated :D

I think they wanted a change from playing at the same venue, so chose a bigger one which was seated. It was still a good gig but standing is clearly much better (& cheaper) & quite a lot of fans just chose not to go.

They've played sooo many dates in london. Most bands only play london and nowhere else. + no doubt they will announce a london show in not too long.

Managed to get two tickets for the 100 Club and their album launch. It'll be my third time seeing them there and cannot wait

I'm really surprised at their longevity, they really haven't progressed at all and that recent single is bloody awful.

well, it did always seem in the earier days when they were banging it out that they sensed it couldn't last.
but if you've paid attention there are definite subtle shifts in the sound and approach from one record to another - the new single is different in a number of ways for example

I think I lost interest when they started doing the 10 count in Jobseeker. Ruined it.

Tbf I've not had the means to properly listen to music for a long time so haven't paid too much attention other than hearing them on 6music. The enthusiasm of Lammo, Lame, Robinson and Pop have done nothing to make me want to hear more.

the other thing about this is... early on they got a lot of, slightly misguided maybe but sincere, comparisons with The Fall and John Cooper Clarke. Both of whom essentially did the same thing for 40-50 years. I think it'd be a harsh judgement to suggest neither of them progressed at all. So you might have a wait on your hands with the mods.

Looks like a 3rd track from the album is pre-released. O.B.C.T.

Heavy on bass. Bit of something approaching actual singing, well the odd word anyway. Kazoo action.
I heard a clip of this earlier, a slight change as you say. A bit more singing rather than just angry shouting :D

Will give it a proper listen later.
