Sheridan abandons hope for the SSP and tries to form new party

or you just respond with shrill shite anyway

Is this a last word contest? Sorry but I have a life to attend to now. You just keep repeating this to yourself now, if it makes the difficult truths and issues go away:rolleyes:

A more spirited defence of Tommy from the Socialist Party.

But, then, unlike, the SWP, none of their members face perjury charges.
I see they give their postal address as "London, Britain". I don't completely know why but that really annoys me! It's "GREAT Britain" if you're describing the island, or "United Kingdom" if you're naming the country! It's as if they're making some pathetic anti imperialist point by renaming the place we live and in some way putting it down. And I know i have "North Britain" as my location but that's Ironic so it's allowed.

Sorry about that wee rant but it really bugs me.

They Might Still Get Off.

Still baying for the blood of socialists for allegedly lying in court and yet not a solitary word against Blair for lying before Parliament and the entire country (i.e Britain) and contributing to the destruction of Iraq?

Now there's Blairite double standards for you.

Now there's a man whose sexual antics make Tommy's look tame! Oaten's odd activities were exposed by the News of the Screws, too.

Two interesting differences:
- Oaten was not stupid enough to sue the News of the Screws
- Neither Oaten nor his chums ran around shouting that the evil Murdoch Empire had run the article to attack the forces of heroic Liberal Democracy

His own party didn't back stab him either. See, the Lib Dems are actually a 'proper' party.

Yeah, I guess you must hear the "I haven't been a socialist since I grew up" line A LOT. Funny how that is what happens though isn't it?

Not really. What usually happens is that you ask them what their socialism consisted of in their youth, and it turns out that it was half-baked lefty crap which had more in common with a discarded Citizen Smith script than with revolutionary socialism itself.

You're then supposed to apologise for holding political beliefs that they never held in the first place.

It's funny how that happens a lot. ;)

Tanky Tabloid in Cheeky Pun Shocker

I don't often see the Morning Star, but its front page today (Wednesday) is about Sheridan. The coverage is pretty much all that Sheridan and his fans could want. The emphasis is on Tommy's claims that the tape is faked, Tommy's voice is 'spliced' with someone else's blah blah blah and "MI5 is certainly involved".

The headline in very big type is a quote (or pseudo-quote) from Tommy: 'If you want a fight, we'll take you on'

But even the Morning Star's sub-editor couldn't resist adding the heading: Sheridan comes out swinging after tabloid's new sex scandal claim

John McAllion at September's SSP Rally

This is a month old, but I don't think it's been posted here before, and it is well worth watching.

It's John McAllion, former Labour MP and MSP, speaking at last month's SSP rally. I am not a supporter of the SSP, as many will know, and I fundamentally disagree with many of his conclusions about the way forward for our country, but there's no denying that he speaks with knowledge, experience and authority on the burning issues, and he would be an asset to any Parliament.

And Tommy Sheridan's antics mean he is much less likely to get back in; not only that, Tommy Sheridan and whatever heid-the-ba's he can drag out in NE Scotland to stand against John will be doing all they can to undermine him.

Watch the film - about 16 mins.

Sheridan's a twat. Caught red handed.

And anyone who calls people "comrade" in this day and age needs to have a serious word with themselves....

:D

That's a load of shite.

You've bought the NOTW shite of 'throw enough mud'.

In reality, wait and see.

I haven't read a copy of NOTW for several years now.

I just think Sheridan is lying.

And he cals people "comrade" in a non-ironic way...

The SSP didn't stab Sheridan in the back, he stabbed them in the back then shouted "I've been mugged!".

I'm amazed how many people have fallen for the class traitor's lies; you can believe nothing that comes out of the little shite's mouth.

I've read the Morning Star article now. They've got it about right.

Also, regarding Oaten. If caught with your pants down, the safest course of action is to pull them up and say sorry. Not to stand there, tackle swaying in the breeze, and say “My pants aren’t down. And I want all of you to swear under oath that my pants aren’t down.”

Mark Oaten did the former, and may see his political career recover. Sheridan did the latter, and is likely to spend time in prison for perjury. Like Jeffrey Archer.

I agreed with that until I found out that someone(s) on the SSP exec gave copies of the minutes of 'that meeting' to a national newspaper along with an aviddavit.

Now I think he is a little shite and the other lot are big shites.

Name your souce and name the person responsible.

The source is the Herald itself - the said so on the front page.

I;d be interested to know the identity tho, although the upcoming purgery case may force the Herald;s hand, although I;m not sure what legal obligation they have to reveal their sources.

Latest update

George McNeillage has not ruled out the possibility of more tapes and Fiona McGuire has stated that she has received a death threat. Sheridan has recommended that McGuire gets psychiatric help.

The death threat wouldn't have come from Sheridan, though. The man's proved himself to have really crap judgement, but even he can't be stupid enough to start issuing death threats at this stage. The threat is much more likely to have come from a silly nasty Sheridanite acting without Sheridan's say so, I reckon.

Colin McNeilage was just on Newsnight Scotland.

He said he made his tape and kept it for 2 years without ever showing it to his SSP mates. Laughable.

He says he only showed it to one 'mate' before selling it to the NotW. Laughable

He refused, many times, to say how much he got from the NotW as it was 'not relevant', 'private', 'confidential', 'personal' and other adjectives. Beyond laughable.

He said he made the tape to show his SSP mates what Sheridan was really like...then never showed it to them....then sold it to the NotW for a price he refused to confirm. Laughable

He was aggressive and ignorant, constantly looked away from the interviewer when being asked questions, shrugged his shoulders when asked about the contradiction in selling his tape without telling his party of its existence, he was tense and defensive. Not laughable.

Possibly the worst presentation of a case ever seen. socialist?...not. Not at all...just a nasty little political troll who wouldn't even put on a fucking jacket for the interview, looking more like someone who came for a fight in an open necked shirt and skinhead haircut, refused to answer any questions and constantly tried to constantly diss Sheridan instead. In other words...not a presentable politican, nor indeed a man of any trustworthiness, avoiding every question.

Of course I've always taken Sheridan's side in this, claiming the bigger picture of Scottish Socialism versus Murdoch.

This interview merely reinforced my views, and very likely had the same effect on the views of absolutely any other floating voter/neutral/unallied socialist who watched it.

I disagree with you on the whole case - but agree Mcneilage is a twat, selling to the News of the World. However ... condemnining him for his haircut and failure to wear a tie.. :D :D :D
