Figes is a massive dick but his one of the Russia is an easy read. Obviously there's things that any class based politics is going to take issue with in the Economics one but overall it is actually one of the strongest I've read. Chris Bickerton's one of the EU is pretty weak but I guess if you didn't know a lot of the background it serves some purpose. The National Populism one is good and the Statistics one is also very good.

Not read the ones on Marx or Anarchism - but I'm trying to get copies from the library.

it is worth reading. It does emphasise the importance of class. And it does keep being misquoted. It also genuinely popularised sociology in respect of participation and interaction with the ‘what class are you’ website that the BBC (iirc) set up.
