School scraps ‘racist’ hair rules as they’re influenced by ‘white supremacy’

TBF whatever their faults all the new Pelican books I've read have been clear and well written as primers. I might criticise the content but the style has been good.

Agreed.

I've got the National Populism one and the one on Social Mobility and it's Enemies too.

Figes is a massive dick but his one of the Russia is an easy read. Obviously there's things that any class based politics is going to take issue with in the Economics one but overall it is actually one of the strongest I've read. Chris Bickerton's one of the EU is pretty weak but I guess if you didn't know a lot of the background it serves some purpose. The National Populism one is good and the Statistics one is also very good.

Not read the ones on Marx or Anarchism - but I'm trying to get copies from the library.

it is worth reading. It does emphasise the importance of class. And it does keep being misquoted. It also genuinely popularised sociology in respect of participation and interaction with the ‘what class are you’ website that the BBC (iirc) set up. I think this is the one that suggested 7 class formations

I hate rules & policing and all that...but really, this is a good outcome. Thanks to the mod whodunnit.

I hope it's a perma

decolonizing science is a bit dubious, to be honest, Islamic and Chinese theories had some influence at the beginnings but when it kicked into high gear it was the Evil West all the way how'd you think they ended up colonizing the world most African knowledge was either overlooked or lost at the point of a Gun.

that was ancient Egypt
trying to claim all science has non-western routes is highly dubious you end up with Wakanda forever nonsense of amazing technological civilizations in Africa. which ignores the real civilizations in Africa.

sorry I've run into the American afro-centric or whatever their band of idiocy is properly called who ignore anything above the Sahara as not properly African you can see where they are coming from and why but it is still devoid of logic,

More headteachers like this, please:

26/02/2020 Townley Grammar School (Bexleyheath). Townley Grammar School ??s headteacher Desmond Deehan, poses with some pupils wearing different hairstyles. The selective school is applying less restrictives hair style policies, allowing pupils feel more confident with their own looks. Picture: Gustavo Valiente Herrero

If he has stated 'free reign' He is unfit to be a headmaster. If it wasn't him, then the reporter needs to report for English lessons.
