Pre-Season 22/23

Kent Messenger interview with Alan Dowson suggests we’re signing Josh Hill:

Centre-back Josh Hill has left the club after agreeing to link up with National League South rivals Dulwich.

“Josh Hill had his knee injury and we invited him back for pre-season to see how he is but he’s decided to take the option where Dulwich have offered him a deal.”

“I don't think we can compete with Ebbsfleet or Havant, or Welling and Dulwich budget-wise but the aim is always to challenge and we’ll definitely get a team that challenges, it’s pointless us being here if we can’t."

Interesting tidbit. Whether founded or not.

Be good to know our aspirations for the coming season.

Has anyone done the calculation on how much a season ticket is likely to be?

My reading of what Ben & liamdhfc have said is that the price per match won't go up, but the number of home matches is higher this season.

Other variable are
  • pre season included?
  • women's team included?
  • 10% bar discount

I had vowed not to renew if Gavin was still in charge but the thought of those queues and buying a ticket online when I do want to attend fills me with dread...

Typical Dowson, always has a budget that can't compete wherever he goes. Then he runs round the pitch so fans can top up his budget. He's just gone to a club to replace Steve King and signed back most of his team, need I say more.. Watch out for the couple of players from Woking that will likely arrive as well. Ebbsfleet & Havant will be paying silly money, but we are not near the top of the wage bill league..

My calculation would give prices as

Adult £195 &
Concession £85
13-19 Pay Your Age
Under 13- Free

Pre-season won't be included

Other stuff I honestly don't know.

Gav IN

Well, he's been given what he wanted. He needs to succeed. Wonder if the club actively considered anyone else - Gav is very fortunate to still have his job.

I think Liam's point is the club will announce once the contract is signed and not before.

Realistically once Gavin started signing 2022/23 players, he was always going to be here at the start of the season. The SLP article doesn't change much.
