The word is the same; it’s the product that’s different. My 4 year old niece asked me what the word for pizza is in Italian.
You're right posh, aren't you.I had to eat a pizza with my bare hands a couple of weeks ago, was mortified.
Posher than someYou're right posh, aren't you.
Jesus wept, please don't tell me you use a knife and fork with butties?Posher than some
Not really I just like using tools to get the job done. Even with sandwiches.
Of course that’s what to do. I also use cutlery to eat burgers. And chippie teas. If I’m in a restaurant or at home. Obviously if you’re sitting on the harbour wall eating a takeaway, that’s different.
Oh dear. It shouldn't be and doesn't have to be different. It will be different if you go to an average pizza chain or go somewhere where the pizza is cooked in an average, everyday oven. Go to a decent pizzeria where the pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven and it will be very similar to a pizza bought in Italy. The word is the same; it’s the product that’s different.
Please don't ask people if they eat their own words with a knife and fork.Do you also use a knife and fork to eat sandwiches?
I know. But we’ve had pictures on here of what in the English speaking world counts as pizza but which wouldn’t in Italy.Oh dear. It shouldn't be and doesn't have to be different. No. Almost never. Unless they’re big and hard to handle. Or “open” (ie “not a sandwich”).Do you also use a knife and fork to eat sandwiches?
Unless they’re big and hard to handle.
That doesn’t look home madeIndeed, I agree, but you couldn't knock a half decent home made effort like that.
Indeed, you could be right. In that case, if that's a take away, very poor. That doesn’t look home made
Looks pretty good to meIndeed, you could be right. In that case, if that's a take away, very poor.
Sometimes, yet, if they're sufficiently chunky that it's easier to cut them up into bits.Jesus wept, please don't tell me you use a knife and fork with butties?
Hand crafted.Bigger than the plate
Again, hand crafted. They are not supposed to be symmetrical and look like they came out of a factory. Is was good.Looks good, but is it just me that stresses about uneven topping placement on pizzas?
Everything has ended up between 11 O'clock and 3 O'clock, so there are going to be some very dull slices and some "ooh ooh ooh" (due to the chilli!) slices
I have concerns about the topping placement as well, but gets a like for what looks like fantastic crust.Just the one tonight, but, it is from a place on the king's road .
