My mate used to eat Phaal, which makes Vindaloo seem positively mild. Personally, I wouldn't go near a Vindaloo. Far too hot to enjoy the flavours. Madras is about as hot as I like 'em.

Thing is, a little heat can bring some flavours out. I found what happened over quite a few years was that the amount of heat for delivering the desired effect very slowly crept upwards. It's not a macho "stunt food" bollocks thing. Though it is for some.

Then eventually you find that vindaloo is getting a little mild and lots of curry houses don't even do anything hot enough, which isn't all that much fun because it restricts your choice. Which is why about a year and a half ago I went on a chilli fast to get my tolerance down. Takes a good while but the sweet spot is down to a spicy madras now.

Anyway korma just means yoghurt involved doesn't it so can have hot kormas, same as vindaloo means garlic and wine so doesn't have to be hot, although I'm just being a dick really cos in british indian/south asian restaurants obviously they now correspond to how hot do you want your curry. Have had a pork vindaloo in UK curry house that wasn't that hot though.

Standard curry house i'll usually have a jalfrezi or a biryani, I suggest you all do the same

Depending on the establishment, I usually have balti, tandoori or rogan josh. This is, of course, correct.

Not enough colour for my liking in a lot of curries, that's why I favour a jalfrezi, the whole green chilli in the centre makes it more cheerful.

Baltis I find too variable, no two restaurants seem to agree on what it is supposed to be, leading to inconsistent heat and errr consistency

That’s why it depends on the establishment. I feel like ordering from Shish Mahal tonight. I’ll go tandoori. With pratha.

Sorry. No. I already have capers, olives, anchovies, and chilli. That's OK. Pineapple doesn't belong on a pizza.
I think you’ll find you mean it doesn’t belong on your pizza.

Ordinarily I wouldn’t choose it either, but I decided to try a thought experiment: pizza is my favourite food. But I also like curry. So would my least favourite pizza near my least favourite curry?

I love pizza too, but the comparison is between a generally lacklustre curry and a pizza which has has been egregiously defiled.

The worst restaurant pizza with pineapple has to be far better than the worst korma. I tasted my wife's korma in The Taj Mahal in Bilbao. It was like hot Angel Delight with boiled prawns floating in it, slightly flavoured with curry sauce.
