Thanks for the pics and the match report! What's happened to Red Velvet then ... sounds like the clubs merged but not many RV players went across, given their results so far?

Four or five went across, but perhaps the weaker ones? I see that RV's captain, Red Jenkins, has moved to the new club though. The better players have moved up divisions apparently. Kent United are (at least) 75% owned by former DHST Board member - Matt Purser - who bought the assets of defunct Kent Football United and 'merged' (took over) Red Velvet's place in the league. RV have gone back to being in the Bromley & South London league and Sunday football.

In other KCFL news, Crockenhill have started their new season with a 4-1 home defeat. Could they make it there relegations in three seasons?

Thanks pompeydunc - was Red Jenkins the archvillain (number 8) who was chuntering at the 2-2 away draw, and then came over to the Peckham fans to say thanks for making the trip to watch the game?

The women’s team still have a friendly game kicking off at 10:30 am at Pynners Close. We’re playing Goal Diggers.

Well, on the positive side, we didn't get a player sent off (although it very much looked like that might happen at one point), but we squandered plenty of opportunities and left the field 0-2 down.

First win of the season for the Peckham Feminista. Went 2-0 down inside ten minutes but showed strength and resilience to fight back for a 4-2 victory.

Peckham Town Women continue to climb the table with a stonking 6-2 against Camden Town Yellows in the LWSFL Division One. Waiting for the official update up think we’re up to second spot behind new leaders Franchester United. Our next game is against Tooting Bec in a fortnight’s time.

After an enthralling 3-3 draw, Peckham lost the penalty shoot out 4-5 in front of 180 people. Damn.
Nevertheless, it was an exciting contest and Peckham deserve great credit for taking it to the wire against a higher division club. (London Senior Trophy 1st Round, against Clapton of the Eastern Counties League South Division, who were the Isthmian League's last continuous serving members when they dropped out in 2006.)

Indeed. They played superbly well.
