Paralympics - Who's Going?

Oh sorry, couldn't you see there from my seats right at the back here :D

So when did you get them then?

I'm still trying to figure out where we'll be sitting. I know where, but not where exactly, ie. are there tiers for wheelchairs or just one row at the front etc.? :hmm:

:p I hate being left out ;)

Got them late in the first week of the Olympics, we were initially just wanting to go the Olympic Park but couldn't get any tickets - then my husband's mum mentioned the Paralympics, and I realised it was likely to be most excellent to watch...

No idea where we are sitting either, now that you mention it.

Have you got account on the website or have details been emailed to you? It lists your seats on the booking confirmation then you can just look up venue seating

Looks like it

Clare Balding will front the main coverage alongside wheelchair basketball star Ade Adepitan.

The network will broadcast 150 hours of action – 130 on its core channel including a prime time round up show – with further coverage online.

Long-standing Channel 4 News anchor Jon Snow will anchor the channel’s coverage of the Paralympic Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

Triple-jump champion Jonathan Edwards and 400m runner Iwan Thomas will present and report from events.

Me, but I got way more tickets than I actually wanted. I don't think I can be cocked to cart myself down to the Excel Centre for three loads of fencing and two of judo.

Husband has them... will check!

edit: can't see seat numbers yet, iirc they will be on the tickets, which haven't arrived yet.

No idea of schedules yet. Channel 4 is showing the Games, so not sure how many events will be televised considering they only have one channel :hmm:

Would be a massive disappointment if they weren't
they will have some digital channels too - plus on-line stuff - not as much as BBC, maybe 10 channels?

can I pick up the tickets at the venues yet? I don't want to go on the day and have to queue:mad:

Has he registered with London 2012 website? If you have a reference number, you might be able to see - maybe :hmm:

ah, I'm going on the 4th as well

How you getting there?
No, I meant the next week as in the week after... I think it's on the 9th. That sounds vaguely familiar.
NO dudes how we are getting there. Is their a river bus or something? That'd be cool. I want to go on the cable car though, we'll have to squeeze that in somehow.
First things first, I'll have to check if ShiftyJunior is back at school on that day :hmm:

Oh, I'm getting mixed up. Swimming Tuesday 4th, Goalball Friday 7th.

Well as I'll have him in tow, I'm thinking 133 to Liverpool Street and central line from there.

Alternative is chopping and changing from London Bridge on to Jubilee Line then DLR. Think 133 route to London Bridge involves fewest changes and walks between lines though

we're going... to the 7 aside football. We bought those tickets because they include a day ticket to the olympic park and we want to take the kids for a day trip.

I opted to pick them up at the venue this time. ;)

@husband

Cheers for that Minnie. I will have to look up the train stuff soon.
You're so organised

Thinking about it, if you need to be there an hour and a half beforehand, not sure river bus runs that early. The way I'm thinking of going is bus and tube on way.

On way back, DLR down to Royal Victoria, Cable Car across the River to North Greenwich, and boat back from there.

If he's too tired though, will be Jubilee Line to London Bridge) and 133 bus from there or Central Line to Liverpool Street and 133 bus from there.

Have to be organised unfortunately to minimum walking :D
