Olympic Opening Ceremony, London 2012

I do think it's nice that before all the serious business, all the athletes, regardless of how they actually do, get this moment of recognition and fun :)

Look at their little faces! ;)

Place your bets - at this rate how many more times will the name of a place or athlete be taken the piss out of by the commentators?

except the ones who aren't taking part as they're competing the next day etc. :( Lots of the GB team aren't bothering

Rez is one of my favs and it does always make the hairs stand up and produce tingles
from the tune and from the memories of that time
big :)
innit - they teased with something a little similar earlier in the show too, which I bet they knew we'd be picking up on.

I just walked into a pub. The Olympic stuff us in the tell with the sound turned down. Somebody told me that the cauldron had been lit by Bradley Wiggins. There is not much to see now, just a walking procession of people from different countries waving their respective flags. There must be a lot of bored children in the audience wanting to go home.

now the dull walky bit...

They seem to be going alphabetically. FFS, how long will this go on for?

Oh well, I guess I have a while longer to think of Cool Runnings related jokes before Jamaica comes on....

If I manage to stay awake that long.

Your friend appears to not know the difference between a bell and a cauldron...

For the first time in my life I felt something approaching pride in being British, a most peculiar feeling.

Trevor Nelson being a bit racialist, 'a natural sense of rhythm' :hmm:
