Netflix recommendations

A search does not bring anything up in my name. I remember a warning message coming up for me, well more like a subtle reminder that if I have other family members that use netflix they should jolly well pay for their own accounts.

Not sure there is even a way to contest it. My brother uses my netflix but as far as they know he could be living with me and just watching netflix when he is away at work in st albans.
Apologies, it wasn't you:

She got this today:

She can pay £4.99 to be added to the account as an extra member though.

I don’t think you’re allowed to use the same account in different houses? That’s why it says household!
Mind you, i share my Disney account with three different households in two cities and they haven’t told me off yet.

Is anyone here actually using the £4.99 adverts included option?

It says they are 'short and infrequent' and wondered if this was the case.

Thanks

I know; it's recent-ish that they've started enforcing it though. Disney+ still aren't arsed; she's sharing that with about 15 other people.

I did get the same passive aggressive message from Disney that I did from Netflix. . . But since then nothing has happened. Actually nothing happened with Netflix either.

What are you supposed to do if you are a Netflix household on holiday, or want to log into your Netflix account at work ?

To those who enjoy dwelling on my (occasional) recommendations for lowbrow trash, I gladly present you some free ammunition: I really enjoyed Damsel.

It’s a very silly escapist fantasy thriller film that has predictably become an instant Marmite movie. All I will give as a very rough summary would be ‘female princess Rambo meets Lord of the Rings’, featuring a brilliant Millie Bobby Brown who is clearly enjoying herself massively here.

The dialogue is at times terrible, and like with most fantasy films, you have to ramp up your suspension of disbelief before pressing play. But ultimately this is a great weekend film that initially feels it might be a dreadful fairy tale for teens, then suddenly turns into a badass Medieval female John McClane survival battle.

Bottom line: even most of the naysayer reviewers agree Millie Bobbie Brown is great in this, so watch it for that if nothing else. But IMO the film has far more going than just her performance, and it’s worth a watch for anyone who likes the fantasy genre. And of course, it is no surprise that a lot of the overtly negative reviews come from the kind of right wing outlets like the Torygraph, not usually known to care much for strong female leads kicking arse in traditional male roles.

I pay for the extra member account as part of my standard account (10.99 total per month) - this allows my partner in Leicester to use my netflix account at her house. It basically means we get Netflix for 5.50 each.

I tried watching this with my 6 and 10 year olds and had to give up after about 20 minutes with them absolutely traumatised :D  I thought it was going to be like the Princess Bride.

Yes, episode three with the car was dreadful. The dialague is just rotten throughout. No one speaks like any of those characters. There's no police in the Guy Ritchie universe. If there were, everyone would be nicked cos they are shit at being criminals.
It's the dialogue that's done me in the end. It's just shit 😆

The first very scene with the King and his Knights and what happens to them was probably traumatic enough :D

If you really need to know that American boarding schools for "troubled teens" which charge parents $$$ to ship their inconvenient children off to remote sites for heavy brainwashing (sorry, "behavior modification") regimes are a bad idea, then THE PROGRAM may not be 3 hours of your life wasted. It's wayyyy too long and full of whining, but worth it for jawdropping testimony on the levels of scamming and abuse involved and takes a sensibly combative and systematic 'follow the money' approach.

This has the best line, when they're on the phone to a former member of staff, who isn't taking accountability and wants to get off the phone.. "I'm driving, cars are passing me.. and my gas light's on." Voice in the background, "Sure is."

It was the bit where they saw the burnt corpse of the other princess and Elodie had a horrific burn to her leg that made them pull the plug :D

Can’t say I blame them… :)

You should check out the reminder if it was grabbing you in any way, though. Proper Rambo shit :D

The Glory. Bullied schoolgirl returns as an adult to take revenge on the gang who abused her. Been binge-watching it for last three nights. One of those series that's so good you can't wait for the next episode.

The remake of Firestarter with Zac Efron that went up on Netflix today has completely failed to grab me so far, but that might be due to "had to do a lot of social interaction today so mind is buzzing and can't concentrate this evening" - I might have to give it a go another time when I am more relaxed.

Just realised the apt nature of the bolded bit - the thing I had to do Social Interaction at today was actually a Bumblebee Identification Workshop and then we went out and (gently!) caught queen bumblebees to survey the species currently coming out of hibernation and looking for nesting sites - so buzzing is a very apt word :D

Think I saw a couple today, just because in my ignorance they were massive.

Certainly if you are in the UK, any bumblebees you see at this time of year are likely to be queen bees - they hatch and mate at the end of autumn and then hibernate underground for the winter, emerging between Jan and March (depending upon species) to feed to gain some weight and to find a nesting site to start to lay their eggs - so it's very likely that any you saw today were queens doing their spring thing :)

I really wanted to like that, but I found the first episode so boring that I never bothered carrying on with it.

Watched 3 episodes last night. Like you say, it leaves you wanting more. I am finding it a bit hard to follow some parts of the plot.

Dpubt I’ll watch it but the latest South Korean tv show to cause a buzz is about a woman who turns into a chicken nugget. Certainly weird if not actually watchable.
