Marcus Fakana - Dubai and why not to go there

I also wondered what evidence was being used to convict. If it really was her private messages, that's a gross intrusion of her privacy (presumably by the mother). That daughter could be feeling very, very betrayed. In the name of "protecting" her.
Yes, back in the UK where she is able to consent to sexual relations, but finds her mother sending these details to a foreign state without her (apparent) consent. It's not going to happen but you'd think the young woman has a case to pursue against her mother for breach of privacy or similar.

What sort of evidence is required in Dubai to convict for this type of incident; the mothers word no doubt.
I understand the youngster handed himself in to the authorities; what awful state must he have been in to do that :(

Lad would have grassed himself.

Why do they not teach you this at school: NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE, THEY ARE ONLY INTRESTED IN NICKING YOU.

The mum found pictures on her daughter's phone. Which presumably were explicit.

I'm wondering if race was a factor here. In the mum reporting him after seeing the pics on her phone.

Maybe the 'strict' mother and her family simply found a photograph of young Marcus Fakana and his family.
