Manchester United 19/20: You can't win anything with kids (revisited)

Time for the silver fox.

The last time Man Utd had a midfield as poor as their current one, Margaret Thatcher was PM, Black Box were at the top of the charts with 'Ride on Time', Bryan Robson was injured and Sir Alex Ferguson was under increasing pressure as manager.
When was this?

Since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed permanently on March 28th, Manchester United have won just 17 points in 16 Premier League matches (W4 D5 L7), the fourth-worst tally among the 17 ever-present teams in that time.

Its not just the manager although he is a very bad appointment in that his tactical acumen is so limited. The youth arent good enough, the old heads arent pulling their weight and the recruitment under Woodward is too hit and miss. They did right in clearing out the dissidents but the club meeds an overall restructure if it wants to achieve anything on the pitch and thats going to take a few years.

It shouldn’t be forgot Solskjear was appointed after a run of wins against teams exclusively from the bottom half of the table (except for a lucky 1-0 over Tottenham IIRC). It was such a bullshit appointment for that reason alone, a real indictment of the way Man Utd are run.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I genuinely can't believe they've not sacked him yet.
I had every belief he'd be gone by yesterday afternoon.

But then again I guess you could say the same about Pochetino (sp.) at Spurs.

I see no reason to sack the Spurs manager tbh they’ve got problems at full back and possibly centre half but they can be resolved.

Manchester United are prepared to pay £130m Leicester City's English midfielder James Maddison and defender Ben Chilwell, both 22.
May be a more frantic January transfer window than usual. Man Utd and Spurs seem likely to be selling and buying a lot (or planning to) and Chelsea may get a reprieve too? City and Arsenal possibly looking for a defender or two :hmm:

Read that Pogba is almost certainly out for the Liverpool game and likely out till end of the month.
