Man accidentally kills himself with shotgun whilst trying to damage car.

A380

How do I change this 'custom title' thing then?
From today’s Standard. The headline isn’t quite right; apparently the subject threatened the occupants of a car with a shotgun. When they made off he tried to smash the windscreen with the butt of the gun, which went off, killing him.

Tragedy for his family. But what is the hive mind view on such instant ‘karma’?

What sort of cartridge load would still have the force to kill after a ricochet? Must have shot himself direct you'd think, not that I'm any expert.

The headline and first paragraph don't agree with the account a couple of paragraphs down. Does seem more likely that it went off while he was trying to smash the window holding the gun by its muzzle.

If faces were made out of toughened safety glass they'd probably rethink that
Pedantry perhaps but windscreens aren't toughened, they're laminated, and very strong.

Other windows on cars are tempered for safety which makes them break into lots of pieces.

You pop windows with the end of an old spark plug, any run-of-the-mill car stereo thief knows that. If you get caught with one in your pocket they will do you for ‘going equipped’.
