MAFSUK 2024

I'm ill and I started watching this yesterday and I can't tell which bits are real and which are fever dream. There are a lot of least favourite twins. Teeth also seem to feature quite heavily.

I'm not sure any of these people are very nice. Except Kristina and Kieran obviously.

Also it's hilarious if you watch the 1st serious and then you watch the 9th. We were so naive in 2015.
In 2015 it seemed quite scientific and sensitively done. Then Australia got hold of it and now look where we are. 😄😄

2015: "Oh, it turns out James is able to win teddies at fairgrounds by shooting targets because he was in the cadets! Ha ha, I'm learning so much about him!"

2024: Bloke with a Lionel Blaircut is asked by man who spends several hours a day in the gym whether he is superficial.

I mean, I'm here for it. Is anyone else considering facial fillers?

I haven't seen yesterday but I'm going in now!
I'm doing a quick recap because when I watched it last night my partner kept TALKING THROUGHOUT the absolute mofo 😡

I've never been so engaged with the UK one as I am this time. Not sure whether it's them or me.

I've just been looking up when the filming took place, as one of the filming locations is near me (we did an Urban walk there and part of the site was cordoned off, wondering whether that might have been filmed then), and am fascinated to find it described in multiple media sources as "an event space in Greenwich, London".
No, no, it isn't in Greenwich, it's in E14 which is the much less prestigious Tower Hamlets :hmm: You can see Greenwich across the river :hmm:

I'm no fan of Adam (understatement) but I can't believe they're all acting shocked and appalled that he isn't pretending to fancy Polly, and trying to pressure him into wanting something he clearly doesn't want. Consent is a real thing, people! Even for complete dickheads like him.

Polly at least has the decency to look embarrassed while Eve and Charlie are on the couch.
(And is trying to make it up to Charlie)

I know it looks a bit stalky but I came across these and had to share!

I'm still catching up but what I have noticed is that they need to get some new sofas. Those women are proper struggling to get off them! :D

Drunkenly dishing out home truths is what this great nation is built on. If you're wearing massive heels and struggling to leave a tiny sofa as you do so, even more so. I think we need those sofas, Saffy

Good grief, Lacey's mum is awful.
How can she not know any vegetarians? Does she not leave her house?

Poor Nathan - "look me in the eyes" to someone ND.
I do think he's a bit gormless but he comes across as decent enough and he's facing full on trial by mum who I don't get the impression is going to be at all understanding of his differences (dietary or otherwise).

I wish they wouldn't introduce new couples midway through, I have a hard enough time remembering who everyone is anyway.
And he looks like another one who spends too much time in the gym.

New guy with his cheesy comments - I wonder if something's getting lost in translation there but he seems very... intense and starey and she's just said he's a bit touchy-feely which seems a bit forward given they've just met 😫

How many times do we need to hear the word banter from two people giving absolutely zero fucking banter.

Oh well, he’s a vegan anyway. 😄😄
Also he doesn't eat meat, why isn't he allowed to say the dish is horrible since he can't eat it? She made him cook it with her, and there was no provision made for him to make something he was able to eat, he was beyond gracious about that and showed no self-interest whatsoever saying not to worry he'd get something to eat later (although I'd have preferred to see him stand up for himself a bit better, but I appreciate that isn't easy) - it's on her for not going ok then let's do a chicken one and a veggie one

"You've done a really good job with her" to the dad 🤮 🤢
The whole thing has blown my mind. These people are closer to my children's generation than mine and they're expecting men to pull chairs out for them and disabling themselves with stupid heels and nails. A man tells his bride what her new surname will be and she giggles. Being treated like a princess is apparently the highest praise. I wonder why all their relationships fail. :hmm:
