Mad Frankie Fraser is brown bread.

They're having his wake today in the local pub near his care home, in Peckham.
I will be very nearby, so I'm gonna have a shufty later. Will I get pliared if I take photos?

Will look forward to your observations OU.

I take it you have enough self-control and confidence in your ability to stick to observation (with drink on board) without slipping into the kind of snide judgementalism rife on this thread. If you do find that happening, just remember to keep this dialogue strictly internal - or you may find your blood and guts external.

ie don't get facking previous, mah san, and don't take liberties.

I've only just seen this, that's what you get for taking a break from here, and I'm quite sad. He was a violent, and certified insane, character. But he was always interesting to listen to when being interviewed. I would shake my head in surprise at some of his antics whenever he appeared in the news. I must read his autobiography, I'll bet it is a fascinating read.

pompous fucker. :D

I think it's hardly snide to be judgmental about a torturing bully.

Don't really have the time or the inclination for this tbh, but dismissing the late Mr Fraser and his ilk in such two-dimensionsl tones is hardly becoming a man of your undoubted intellect and compassion.

I think it's possible to recognise that Fraser and his ilk are to some degree products of the environment (I have a laughable trip-hop album with that very name featuring Fraser, Courtney and the like recounting gangland tales over shuffling breaks. Not particularly recommended), while also considering them vicious torturing bullies.

Tricky

Fucking shite beyond words

If you don't have the time to explain your sniping, then who's the snide one?

Sorry I had you down for a man who had no need of gratuitous 'smilies' to appreciate when someone was being a little tongue in cheek.

If I get time over the weekend I will be happy to engage with you.

Met him once in a pub about 20 years ago.

A few of my mates who I worked with said he was a "face" - but I didn't know of a "Mad Frankie Fraser" in those days and besides, I wasn't interested in all of that.

I found him to be alright and he was very respectful of those who were around him, even complete strangers.

All I can say is that he was good company in a pub.

Edit to add: It was only this year, did I know who he really was. I was watching a crime documentary and I was like "Oh him!".

Frankie Fraser was an incredibly shitty excuse for a human being. He started his criminal career burgling homes during WW2 blackouts and graduated to doing whatever violence his bosses ordered him to do, with brownie points for extra sadism.

He liked to portray himself as a hardman, but he spent 42 years of his life locked in cells, shitting in buckets, mostly doing exactly what he was ordered to do, and generally having less control over his life than most 4-year-olds enjoy. And then he tried to make a living boasting about evil things he did in his younger days, when he was a living example of a completely wasted life.

Hope you can read this eulogy at his service today, OU...

It would be rough in mental health units all that time, I think Sad Frankie Fraser was how he must of felt

I saw him sitting on a chair outside a shitty S/H furniture warehouse off the Walworth road a couple of years ago - being royally lauded by random passers by. Fuck him.I spent 3 years of my shit encusted life having to deal with provincial gangsters and hard men. Every one of them was a cunt.
