Living off the land 100%

What happened to the Sintra plan?

Sintra was a strange place. Village full of incredible summer homes, and palaces of the wealthy of the past. Lush, very fertile, sheltered valley above a small bay. But, it was full of day trippers who didn't really want to do anything other than feel shit that they never had the money to build their own dream home. I didn't hang around. Everything was closed by 9PM. Bit like here where I am now.

Agreed, weird very pretty Disney-ish place. You did make it there then, and I was wrong in my prediction you'd not get round to it.

Mash potatoes and mash beet things with an onion gravy made with giblets.

Definitely on a mission to get back into fish. Heading this way to see if there is cash making potential. Foot is getting me down, and I have no beer tokens :(

I am about to start walking north to south through Portugal. The only things I intend to spend money on are tobacco, booze and emergencies. I am taking work materials (pens and sketch pad) and a single change of clothes as essentials. I will also buy a fishing rod (and tackle), a pot of dried chilis, bag of limes (I never use salt - lime juice is a very good alternative) and a cooking pot.
...

My plan is to harvest as I walk and fish for fish in the evening. I am going to try living off the land 100% for food as I travel :)...

Camping out with no tent - proper vagabonding it :) :) :)

What happened to the Sintra plan?

He's living his Sinatra plan.

He's told us, in detail, how he's travelled each and every highway, purloining the odd beet and chicken en-route; he's also told us how he's loved, laughed cried, humiliated and had his share of losing (he seems very adept at the latter); moreover, with that foot the end is surely near and he'll soon face his final curtain.

And "He did it his way" is the least damning epitaph I could think of for him

Local councilor saved my bacon and bought the sketch. Emergency run to the tobacconist firstly, followed by beers from the local grocery place. Councilor guy told me there are Two good stops between here and the beautiful beaches. First just 8KM. Think I can manage that. Make camp when I arrive and see what daylight brings.

I can't get on a bus - I have chronic shits. Not sure whether to blame my cooking, the figs, the beer, a local water bug, or just my not very lifestyle generally. I wasn't very good to myself in Lisbon

There are military aircraft in the skies here. All sorts. The locals barely notice them. They are sending shudders down my spine. Especially the huge bombers.

See what sort of life this street bum, alcoholic artist has?

I am sure I am not the only one on here feeling jealous of your lifestyle.

Don't eat too many figs, or you'll be spending all your cash on bog roll.
Didn't listen though, did you?

Thought your fig frenzy would end like this

When are you going to start looking after yourself Stanley Edwards?

You get some money, and the first things you buy are cigarettes and booze, not decent food or a bed for a couple of nights. Your body is in no state to do this, you need protein to repair the daily damage you inflict upon it never mind mend your bad ankle. Are you even taking a daily multivitamin to offset some of the damage?

Leave him be!

He's living 'the life', 100% off the land, which we are all jealous of.

Allegedly.

That's the 90th anniversary special edition version made to the original recipe. Rather nice as well , better than the current version but it's a bit strong around 5.5%. Sagres is better imo, Crystal is ok and less gassy.
Stan must have missed the micro brewing scene in Porto theres about 20 now doing anything from stouts to ipa and fruit beers .
