I am very pro-population limits...but would balk at initiating controls as population growth is always so closely linked to prevailing social and economic conditions that in my eco-anarchist future, limits to growth would be a natural consequence with no need for controls imposed from above or below. Yeah in capitalist societies with overall affluence birth rates typically go down, dunno what would happen in a communist super abundance world but would not be economic incentive to have large families that drives high birth rates in lots of societies so reckon could see a net population decrease. Any idea that there should be state or whatever control over population is grim as fuck

I was in one of the last ones... the "Careless Talk" group in North Staffs (sister group to Wildcat/Subversion) back in the early 80s. Of course the ICC come from a council communist background but have never been cc themselves.

I think there’s an unwise contrast in there between hard Leninist collectivised production of tractors for a better world and environmental issues.
