There's a lot of stuff going around about how he's "unwell", or insane, etc., and I'm feeling like I need to dip my oar in. This isn't jumping onto your post, two sheds, just that this was what prompted these thoughts.

First of all, as "unwell" as any of us might be, it doesn't excuse our actions. Whatever the reason for Fox's behaviour, it doesn't excuse him from the responsibility of the consequences that may arise from what he's saying.

But I don't think he's unwell. I think he is an angry, embittered man whose concept of his own masculinity is built on such fragile foundations that any negative experience he has gets perceived as an attack on that masculinity/ego. So he compensates by doubling down, building an extra storey on the castle he's built on sand, then wondering why the whole thing suddenly tilts alarmingly and starts falling to pieces.

If there's anything wrong with him, it is an almost complete lack of self-awareness.

He's got enough capacity to pitch his bullshit just right to appeal to all the other bitter, sulking manchildren out there.

I don't think he's 'well' in terms of emotional stability but he's clearly capable of rational thought. He just puts it to work in service of a really shit set of priorities and goals.

And wellness, particularly mental health, is socially constructed and exists in a social context. The context for posh white men is that there is no social requirement or expectation that they show any emotional maturity or moral decency. He looks to us like a fucking train wreck of a man, but within his own social milieu he's exactly as he should be.

Yeah, there was NO EXCESS DEATHS FROM COVID according to the twat that recently serviced my boiler, and apparently as I disagreed, I need to 'do my own research.'
