July 2005 London bomb blasts: UPDATES AND NEWS ONLY - NO DISCUSSION

It's really weird outside on Regent Street - no buses, hardly any cars, just bunches of confused looking tourists.

Going to be walking home in a while, and was going to avoid Whitehall like the plague - then I thought that it's probably one of the best protected places to be in London right now...

Hope all the people who assumed three immediately, on reading an unsubstantiated, unconfiirmed rumour here that it was three, now feel slightly ashamed.

It's bad enough what we know to have happened, without egging the pudding even further. :(

The BBC said it was three...you'd think they would be a reliable source

Phone networks seem to be recovering.... have got a call through to a landline atm.

So who's been staring blankly at their 'work' all morning?
<Raises hand> Three page feature on the relative merits of various top-dressing machines. Not really gripping at the best of times.

Apparently the whole of LT is shut down.

Oh christ, it's a long walk from Hammersmith to Brixton.

No - because this is an updates thread and people are posting up information as it comes in from various sources such as BBC etc. No-one is scaremongering, people are just passing on information as it becomes public.
So, please shut the fuck up now wiliam. This isn't the time or place to be getting on your high horse.

Everyone who can't get through on the phone, please try not to worry. Statistically, they're very unlikely to be harmed.

am sitting in work in cambridge and finding it very hard to cope with colleagues just getting on with work as if nothing's happened! everybody has their own way to cope I suppose ...

Pretty horrible pictures of casualties on beeb :(

Apparently bringing out people who were closer to blast now

Emergency Services and all those involved in the emergency seem to be doing a great job.

Well done to those
