Inside No 9......

Ha! Funnily enough, CTRL/ALT/ESC was my favourite this season. Although I've never done an escape room in real life and I don't know if I want to.

Theres many things I'd be excited to do with Tim Key.
Lordy. That’s one to be filed under ‘sentences I never thought I’d read’.

I can sympathise with Tim tho. When the next character came into the bogs I did momentarily think ‘blimey, is she going to play every female character?’ before realising my error.

Extremely self-indulgent and really good last episode. It was packed with really fine touches, and as someone said, very much an episode for fans to enjoy. A very nice way to finish the series, suitably bitter-sweet with a layer of farce. I very much like that they set their self-indulgent finale mostly in a gender-neutral loo.

Just watched the first two of season 9. I only got into this show a couple of months back. It is brilliant, but I have skipped a few eps as some of the darker stuff I don't really care for (like season 9 episode 2!)

FWIW, the rest of the episodes in S9 are nowhere near dark.

I’ve started to rewatch the series, but I will definitely will no revisit one or two of them.

This is my drunken self yelling at clouds right now, but I am still amazed at how many people in this country remain unaware of not just the the greatness but the very existence existence of this show. One of the all time greatest creative television shows ever made anywhere, fucking period. Certainly in the anthology sub-category.

I'm continuing to work through it, but it's honestly just not that good. Apart from a couple of eps, they feel like student films shot in the early 90s. Decent ideas, but that's it.

And sometimes the actors are in roles they can't pull off. Reece Sheersmith trying to be Cockney was so bad the highlight of the episode was him having his foot cut off. And I know some people will say it's meta, so it's intentionally bad, but... Sometimes it's just bad.

And I really want to like it. Have also recommended it to people with the caveat that I don't think it's very good but other people do.

Oh, totally get that. But eventually, you just realise that everybody has different life experiences and tastes and so on, and what we might think of as unmissable and essential... they just barely register with others.

Have more or less given up recommending certain series, films, music, comics, books etc to folks (outside of here).

Am delighted at the many recommendations from posters here, over the years on various genres of entertainment. Some have proved to be absolute favourites.

I think you're right that they don't all work. And let's be honest, Steve P is by far the better actor of the two.

I still enjoy the weaker ones, but for me the hit rate is pretty good. When they get it right, it can be fantastic. 12 days of Christine, Wise Owl and Love's Great Adventure are highlights for me. Perfectly realised. But there are lots of satisfying ones. Bernie Clifton's Dressing Room, Riddle of the Sphinx, Misdirection and a few others are very cleverly done.

I adore Inside No 9. For me, even the weaker ones are better than anything else that’s ever been on TV. The good ones are just fantastic. I love it.

But I haven’t watched the last bloody series yet!! I’m rewatching them all from the beginning with my husband who hasn’t watched it before. It’s taking a while!

I can’t watch that Party’s Over show either until I have watched the last series.
