Inside No 9......

But XI = 11 ??
He sees the reflection of the word in the mirror which ties in with the earlier mention of always looking at the reflection in the mirror to his youngest daughter earlier on.

I've never been to an escape room and always wondered if they would be fun. After the episode I'm firmly in the "very much not for me" camp.

For what purpose? Or is it just a thing nerds do for fun?
:D

Oh totally just nerdy fun. There's a whole (very successful) YouTube channel devoted to ranking animals.

I quite enjoy reading other people’s rankings, top 10s etc, but have never bothered doing my own cos it all seems so arbitrary and changeable.

I've seen all of them, but can't remember what many of them are called, so I couldn't do a ranking. 12 Days of Christine and Wise Owl would be top-tier.

Lots of them work well enough to be enjoyable. Door Cam one was 90% successful, for instance - for me, the way the murder actually happened wasn't believable. But there are few faultless ones.

I think I'm always hoping for another perfect one. Expectations too high.

12 Days of Christine undoubtedly the best one also for me. A Quiet Night In a close second.

Hotel Zanzíbar the most joyous.

The very first one, Sardines, doesn’t get mentioned much but I thought it was brilliant and would transfer brilliantly to the stage as a dark comedy play.

The one about the regional theatre actors that takes place in the dressing room is also brilliant.

And I absolutely love the one that is told backwards in 10 minute intervals.

Plenty of second tier ones for me. Nana’s birthday party, the call centre one, the one about who pays a restaurant bill, the one on a night train, the magician one, the ballon containing the breath of a dead celebrity, and the crossword one are extremely watchable.

The wedding photographer one is not just dark as fuck but an extremely unpalatable subject matter. It’s good but would not watch ever again.

Of the ones I mention above, I think I’m right there is only one not in the first four seasons. S5 to 8 have been distinctly weaker for me, but this final season has been much better so far.

Just watched 12 days of christine. Fucking hell, that was amazing.

One of the best half hours of telly I think I've ever seen.

Like when you're just falling asleep and everything runs into everything else. So well done.

Phew!

We have a very old and dear friend staying this weekend- the kind you usually find yourself having the same tastes regarding films snd TV. He had somehow never got into this show, due to the fact he had only watched one episode.

About three hours ago we got talking about what’s good on the telly, and convinced him to give a chance to another episode. Have since devoured another four, and loving it :D

Big heads-up to all fans of the show. The series finale is tonight ( :( :( :( ) , and the word around the campfire is that it wil be best enjoyed watched live. So don't fucking miss it

i don't have a telly.

I'm saving it all as my partner is catching up on the whole thing.

I wonder if that was rhe right decision but I'd like to watch at least some of the fresh with him.

He fell asleep during Zanzibar the other night. I haven't forgiven him for that yet 😆

I refuse to believe that anyone anywhere would be excited by the chance to cast Tim Key.

Theres many things I'd be excited to do with Tim Key.

I loved the episode - so many little touches that made it great. I watched if after a few beers so will probably need a rewatch, especially as I blubbed a bit towards the end.

I know it was self-indulgent but holy FUCK was that a great ending to the whole series, and it was clearly aimed at long-time watchers because of all the little references and shout-outs - the Wise Owl poster, Tim Key in a cramped space, Reese doing his 'Chloe' voice, Con Te Partirò playing. I had fun playing Spot the Actor, though I didn't recognise many faces - Tamsin Greig, David Morrissey, Tim Key obviously, Mark Gatiss and a couple of others. Liked the 'Europa Lepus' bit in the credits as well - the hare is as much a star as Reese and Steve. I'll forgive them for Robin Askwith's arse.

Not my favourite series overall but I loved CTRL/ALT/ESC and Boo to a Goose. Mulberry Close was probably my least favourite because it made no sense, but there are worse episodes (And The Winner Is... was the absolute nadir).
