This is a good, four minute, video about Edward Leung.

Released yesterday (19/01/2022*), under licence for good behaviour, after serving four years of a six year sentence (commencing Jan 2018,) for rioting in Feb 2016 (The Fishball Revolution). He's just turned 30 years old.

He has reunited with his family and deleted all his social media accounts, and will be laying low and giving no media interviews (all are likely conditions imposed for his early release).

At least he is free. Many, many tens of thousands - likely hundreds of thousands - consider him a hero. Many thousands of young people are still in prison.

The Education University (EdUHK) has always been one of the most politically liberal institutions (it essentially trains Hong Kong's teachers).

No more it seems.

It will no longer recogise the Student Union, stop collecting fees on its behalf, take over its office, rescind its right to manage and book facilities and assume control of the HKD 9 million (@ USD 1.15m) it has in reserves.

Love China/Chinese. Detest the CCP.

They're authoritarian, and don't attempt to hide it. A part of me thinks they're doing a controlled demolition to their economy. While the Wests' is crumbling, fast.

We have a few thousand years of history to understand what, evil, unaccountable governments are capable of. Today, Hong Kong, tomorrow, (insert location here)

And, personally, I think part of the reason governments are worried is;

Our collective thinking.

In the West, we think we're so unique and different from each other. But, we are not. We are all mongrels with common ancestors.

Also, there has been no other time in history like now. Technology has fried our little brains and revealed that we are actually all the same. Just with different ideologies. Governments don't like this.

We are more connected now, and this does frighten governments. But, only evil governments.

Think about it. I never have to leave my house. I can get anything ordered to my door. (I Think of the song "wicked and I'm lazy"). When in history could a human be so lazy and unproductive.

A good example is how we look at mental illness. We don't diagnose depression as having mind goblins anymore and treat it with, piss in the ear and a leech on the tongue.

These discoveries came from progression of thought and ideas, not denial of truth and reality.

Governments cannot have free thinking people, who, want, clean environments, healthy food, good opportunities. ETC

And, I know the Western countries have their issues. But, I don't have to worry about my government coming for me, for something as trivial as calling our leaders, well.. Pooh.

We are aware of what is happening around us and inside us and we are able to discuss this, without the fear of being arrested.

We have come such a long way and made massive strides in our progression as humans. But, we appear to be going backwards.

I also understand, that the West, you know.... brutalised the Chinese people. But they can have the Royal Family in my opinion.

But, I understand It is not black and white.

Also, who would actually fight a rich mans war today. Fak off.

Okay, I'll bite. I'll take it on.


A worthy rant, I think.

Passionate, intense, wide-ranging, angry, not incoherent but wayward, wandering.

A quick review of posting history suggests a similar approach, predominately targetted at western (particularly the UK?) governments.

Sincere?

It could be a youngster discovering rage at the world or someone disillusioned looking at where we are or even a bitter elder raging at the moon.

Or it could be a fledgling Tankie or an emerging disruptive troll or a randomly-assigned operative trying to sow and orchestrate general discord or even worse.
