What kind of music/place are you looking for? And Hackney's pretty big -- any ideas on areas?

The houses on the south side are nice but it’s still pretty industrial really. I’m friends with some of the artists who use one of the warehouses as studio space.I know someone who used to live in Belfast Road in a shared property, not that one though - not exactly an attractive building!
It's a funny old road with the mix of old terrace houses and commercial properties, I like the look of the house on the end with the turret that overlooks the railway
History note...before 1907 it was called Stamford Terrace and there was a small brewery there.

The station looks pretty similar - but for some reason we can no longer weigh ourselves whilst waiting for the train - (is it a weighing machine on the platform?) those flats behind the station look just the same. Shops are different though - the one on the corner of Northwold Road (Star market) was recently done up and they revealed an old shop front , showing it was a book shop (looks 50s, I'll see if I can find a photo. )Some photos of Clapton station and surrounding area taken in the 60's by journalist Libby Hall who recently passed away...

It's my most used station, been in it pretty much every week, since 1997I go past here two or three times a week, but I don't think I've ever been inside the station.
I'll have to check out the photos on a proper screen when I get home.

I'm guessing this is where that Thai restaurant on the high st is now? Next to the eastern entrance of the cemetary?

The Invalid Asylum for the Recovery of Respectable Women’, 187 Stoke Newington High St. Now YumYum restaurant. The original building was built in 1714. After years standing derelict, it was rebuilt in 1983 with only the original facade surviving.
